Xbox App (Windows 10) Party Chat loosing connection without any error or sign

    Hi there,

so I am encountering this weird kind of issue where I am unable to hear or speak to anyone in the xbox app party chat on windows 10.

This happens very randomly. Sometimes after a few minutes other times after like 30 minutes or so.

It always worked a few weeks ago without any problems.

This happens for around 1 - 2 months now.

Windows 10 and Xbox Console companion app and also xbox beta app are on the newest versions.

This issue happens in both xbox apps.

I am using Kaspersky if this information is any usefull.

    Please help

    Thank you and best regards

    :)

Xbox App (Windows 10) Party Chat loosing connection without any error or sign

    Hello Sgt Oga,

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that you are unable to talk with anyone in an Xbox Live party, and your friends are unable to hear you. What is the NAT type in the network settings of the Xbox Console Companion App? Do you see
any error messages in the network settings? Generally, this issue is related to the router or gateway's ability to connect to Xbox Live. The most common solution is toggling the UPnP(Universal Plug n Play) feature in your router settings. This is basically
just turning UPnP off and turning it back on.

You need to know how to log in to your router settings before you toggle UPnP. You can find this information in your router or gateway's manual or support website. If you received your network hardware from your internet service
provider, you can ask them for information or assistance with gathering that information and toggling UPnP. We will provide steps on how to complete this process. Be sure to let us know the results NinjaFatGuy!

Follow these steps to turn UPnP off and on:

    1. Log in to your router's web-based configuration page to and make sure UPnP is turned on.

Note Refer to your router's documentation or support website for help turning UPnP on for the first time, or off and then back on. Make sure that the router is restarted each time you update any router settings. If the router doesn’t restart
      automatically, restart it manually.
    2. Turn the UPnP setting off, and then save your changes.
    3. Restart your computer from a full shutdown and restart all network hardware (your modem and router). Removing the power cords, waiting 10–20 seconds, and plugging the power cords back in is the best way to ensure a full power cycle.
    4. Log in to your router's web-based configuration page to and make sure UPnP is turned off.
    5. Turn the UPnP setting back on, and then save your changes again. If there’s another setting labeled Zero Config, ensure that this setting is turned on.
    6. Restart all network hardware (your modem and router).

I also have this same issue; it disconnects randomly and reconnects after a while. It looks like that as much I use party chat more frequently the disconnections get, until it's barely usable, so I have to reboot. This happens only
on PC either in Console Companion App and Win+G, but doesn't with my XBOX (Same network, same router, same all), for 1 mouth now. Also, Discord and Skype works with no problem at all.

Xbox App (Windows 10) Party Chat loosing connection without any error or sign

I posted a month ago with the same issue.

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox/forum/all/a-strange-party-chat-issue-that-i-cant-find-any/323af792-5fa4-4698-adce-ac0568bb8ab1

After going back and forth with Xbox/Microsoft support I'm almost 90% sure it is not associated with your local PC/networking side. Instead, it is likely an issue with the App(s) itself and/or the way it is interacting with Windows 10 on your hardware. For
example, I am running an older OS build on my laptop and it does not have any issues cutting out at random. Also, the issue on my main PC did not have this issue until 3 or so months ago (like you said).

The app is poorly optimized to work with Windows and other apps in the first place. Honestly, I'm just hoping they push out an update to fix the issue. It's quite annoying being mid game and not realizing you are disconnected. Like you said, it is completely
random. Microsoft need to up their game with regards to PC gaming because I'm tired of these lousy, buggy applications like this being developed and pushed out to all PCs.

Discord works beautifully though, so you could always ask your Xbox buddies to hop on that (more work for them...).

One thing is for sure: Nobody in MS support/forums know the definitive answer yet :) Or if they do know the answer, they will spend months until it is updated in the actual App because they put PC gamers second.

Cannot connect to party xbox live

    Hi,

Server error is one of the possible reasons why you're unable to connect to the party chat Xbox live on the Xbox app. To help you resolve this issue, we need to gather more details. Kindly answer the questions below:

    • Have you tried using a different profile and check if the issue persist?
    • Were you able to connect to the party chat before?
    • Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Xbox app on your computer?

In the meantime, we recommend that you perform all the troubleshooting steps provided on the links below:

Xbox Console Companion - Your network settings are blocking party chat 0x89231807 [Possible 32bit issue]

I have made some research and found that this issue is related to the 32 bit Χbox App. I have clean installed Windows 10 32 bit on 2 machines and the Xbox Console Companion will fail to connect to parties (especially partys containing PCs and mobile phones
    - I managed to connect to a party chat with 1 other friend playing on Xbox). Installing 64 bit Windows on both, same machines resolves the error and I can connect to parties normally. Returning to 32 bit brings the error back. I have submitted this feedback
through the app on Windows. You should take a look at this.
