Xbox app will not let me sign in on my PC.

Basing on the statement you provided above, here are some troubleshooting steps that you may try:

If resetting the app doesn't work, you can try running the app troubleshooter. Here's how:



1. Press the Windows key + I to open Settings.

2. Click on Update & Security.

3. Click on Troubleshoot.

4. Scroll down and click on Windows Store Apps.

5. Click on Run the troubleshooter.



If the troubleshooter doesn't find any issues, you can try updating your Windows to the latest version. You can do this by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

this step is for files that cannot be replaced, were you able to replace the file with existo ? if yes, you don't need to do this step.

This can be a bit odd, but please try creating a new local administrator user in your PC and try using the Xbox app from there:

I have done this to the best of my knowledge;

So ran the test and scan and i got this message: Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Details are included in the CBS.Log %WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.

I then followed the advice for this to my limited knowledge of computer systems etc. I think I found the issue being /mscommc.dll saying it does not match.

I followed the steps under : How to view details of the System File Checker process and i copied the file however I'm stuck to what I do after copied the file, which is detailed in point 3. Something about Destination?
