Xbox App unable to recognize games

Hi recently I found out my friends are able to capture game clips and videos using Windows 10 Xbox App, it is able to show him play a certain PC game on the Xbox Live friend list, also able to upload clips from them, they are not Xbox games like gears of
wars and such. However, my Xbox app are not able to recognize any game and I'm not able to share any clips as it will give me this error of "Sorry, we do not recognize this game" and I'm not able to upload it on Xbox live. Its been a known issue for others
too, can someone please help me and is there any ways to fix this?

We couldn't find xbox one console with the IP provided.

Well, I tried the beta and I am still unable to connect. I tried to manually type in my Xbox's ip (192.168.1.2) and it was still unable to detect anything. I've even tried disabling my firewall. Do I need to select any different setting on my Xbox so it
recognizes the beta Xbox App?

 

achievements not unlocking

ive only played on WP. my issue is i unlocked 4 or 5 achievements but Xbox didn't recognise that i unlocked them. Because the games in game achievement tracker has them ticked off, i am unable to unlock them again for Xbox to recognize them.

i only mentioned xbox 360 because certain games i play on my phone dont show up in the xbox app or xbox one.

 

Can you try some of the things I've listed in this thread and report back please?

@Ackis I've looked at the thread you posted and have some things to say. I think you may have missed some info here.

I'm running on a GTX 980ti, and have no trouble recording clips. The issue seems to be more related to uploading to xbox live such as posting them to your activity feed. I've recorded game clips of things like the Battlefield 1 beta on PC, and it works,
It shows up in my folders, I can trim it via the app etc... But when trying to upload it publicly you get the following: "Sorry, we do not recognize this game."

I also had issues with a game called Squad. Except I was able to record and upload it, however, it did not show up in the feed, but I could share it directly via messages, and the clip was empty with nothing happening.

Coincidentally, these issue are happening with games that Xbox isn't displaying. For example, when playing games like Arma 3 or World of Warcraft, your gamertag will be displayed as "playing Arma 3" instead of "Using Xbox App." Those games seem to have no
issues recording and uploading.

 

Well I found what the problem is, its regarding to my windows 10 update, my PC didnt update by it self even though i have turn on the auto windows update. However I still cant upload game clips and still shows the error message of "Sorry, we do not recognize
this game.". So to sort of fix this, I downloaded the beta version of xbox app from the microsoft store. I still couldnt figure out why this feature only works on beta version of the xbox app. But now its able to show what games I am playing on the PC to the
friend list.

 

The problem is the tag in the properties of your DVR game file. If you go into the properties, then details into tags; You have to tag the file as the game name. For instance if you were trying to post a Player unknowns battle grounds video then the tag
would be "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds". If you are using the beta app i find its quite easy to just copy the name of the game you are trying to upload off the list and just paste it as your tag. I hope this works for you!
