  1. Xbox app streaming not (any longer) supports two controllers ?

I am connecting two Xbox one wireless controllers through an Xbox Wireless Adapter to a Windows 10 PC, and always playing my Xbox one console games on Win 10 by streaming, and those all went right and smooth, until the recent updates.

Now, with the latest updates of both the Xbox one console firmware ( 10.0.15063.3054/rs2_release_xbox_1705.170512-1759 ) and the Xbox App ( 29.29.17002.00000 ), only one ( the first working one when streaming starts ) controller is usable in streaming. No
matter in the home page or in game, only one controller is recognized by the console.

The two controllers are the original first gen Xbox one controllers (without 3.5mm jacks), both individually properly recognized by Windows 10 ( Win 10 Pro 1703/15063.296 ) and works well, even inside the Xbox app itself, except streaming.

    Any suggestions?

    :)

Xbox app streaming not (any longer) supports two controllers ?

    SAME EXACT PROBLEM.

Told them about this months ago. Spent over an hour on the phone troubleshooting in every way possible. The lady had a feeling it was due to the new assigning controller update - and reported it.

Turns out nobody at xbox gives a damn about selling wireless dongles (that support up to 8 controllers) which now only works when playing games in Steam. The entire xbox team has yet to either figure out this problem on their own, or just don't care about the
useless xbox dongle while streaming. Nobody wants to stream the xbox to their PC to play 1 player games.

I'm forced to play Steam games instead of xbox games on my PC when I have people over and we play on my big screen in the living room which is hooked up to my PC.

I'm even more mad to see someone else has posted this on the forum and nobody even replied...

Xbox app streaming not (any longer) supports two controllers ?

Just wanted to note here that I am having the exact same issue. Multiple controllers connected to Windows 10 work perfectly *until* the xbox streaming is initiated within the xbox app, at which point all controllers but one are dropped and it's not possible
    to play multiplayer.

To xbox support: this is not a corruption issue, or an outdated driver issue etc. You can easily mock this up in your lab by attempting to play multiplayer via the xbox app for Windows 10 , and will see that it doesn't work. When you get it working in
your lab, please report back to us. Thanks.

Xbox app streaming not (any longer) supports two controllers ?

    Hi,

I've been having the same issue since the last update (2 weeks ago). This is NOT a Windows 10 nor Xbox ONE controller's issue, because I can perfectly use 4 controllers to control both Steam games and Xbox ONE Windows 10 App. The controllers work fine with
the app, but one I start streaming, my Xbox only detects the first controller.

So, no power-cycling nor controller's firmware update is going to fix that.

I hope they acknowledge this issue and fix it in the next Xbox ONE update.

I´ve been having the same issue. Only occurs as soon as I start streaming. Very disappointing.

Have the same problem, one controller is working fine, but if you want to use more than one its not working.

This only occurs when you are streaming.

  7. Hi, thank you all for reporting the same issue.

It is obviously a common problem. Microsoft and the Official Support Team definitely should take this more seriously.

Xbox app streaming not (any longer) supports two controllers ?

    Hi

Same here, every controller is properly connected and recognized by windows 10 , but on streaming through the xbox app only one is recognized

is quite disappointing since this wasn't an issue couple months ago

I hope Microsoft consider fixing this as soon as possible

Same issue here. I have four controllers all working in Windows 10 and can navigate in the xbox app, but as soon as streaming starts, only one controller is usable.

Xbox app streaming not (any longer) supports two controllers ?

    Welcome to the party!

The issue is not the App but the Xbox itself. That behavior has been there since the last Xbox system update (May 21st), but it seems that no one in MS cares about it...

I have the same problem too, two Win 10 Pcs exhibit the same problems, hell even the Android Beta App does on my phone!

I have two 360 controllers rigged by 360 wireless receiver for windows, two bone controllers by USB cable.

The App will only recognize the first connected controller, usually "player 1" on the 360 controller pairs.

Steam detects everything fine, all the controllers appear using joy.cpl and their inputs are correct. All games on my PC play fine with the 4 controllers, the streaming app will only recognize one when a stream is established.

I've factory defaulted my Xbone, I've upgraded firmware, I've done pretty much everything shy of buying a brand new PC and installing Windows 10 to it (my 2nd windows Pc was brand new and never used streaming before this).

Beta version of the app has the same problem.

I thought it was related to the Windows 10 anniversary/creators update, but it obviously wasn't.

There appears to be a problem in the current version of the App where it is no longer recognizing multiple controllers on the PC, the Beta version has the same problem.

How did you figure out it was a system update? And I assume there is no obvious way to implement a rollback?

Because I've tried with 2 different PC's, one with last updates and the other one withouth them, and both are acting the same way.

Plus, this post was opened 1 day after the last Xbox update, and since then, there's been a bunch of Xbox Win10 App and the problem still persists.

Added to that, the Win10 App recognizes perfectly all the controllers; you can control the app itself with all of them, the problem is only when streaming.
    ok, makes sense.

I raised this on reddit in the XboxOne forum with their support rep. They've passed it on to engineering too. So I guess we'll have to see how it goes.

Xbox app streaming not (any longer) supports two controllers ?

It's been 10 days since my last reply and no one from Microsoft has said a single thing... Is it really THAT difficult to try it with their own consoles, see that it's not working properly, acknowledge and fix it?

Xbox app streaming not (any longer) supports two controllers ?

Hi, I have the same issue, I tried to play Diablo 3 with 2 controllers connected directly in Xbox One, and two controllers Xbox 360 connected through Windows 10 and streaming Xbox One. Before, all 4 controllers worked well, but now only
3 controllers works, because of the same problem that um reported: a second controller on streaming is now not working anymore. I need a solution for this too.

Xbox app streaming not (any longer) supports two controllers ?

    Hi,

Sorry for not being around for such a while. Quite some busy days, eh.

The problem still persists, after the reset. And actually this issue is NOT ANSWERED YET.

I did follow every step of your instruction, in fact twice. But everything goes as same as it was, only one controller works when streaming.

I wonder there is no one else encounter the same problem? Hardware is good, and it must be the Xbox app or the console firmware.

Please help check it on your side, thank you.

Thanks as well for the detailed response.

The next troubleshooting solution you may perform is to reset your Xbox One console to factory defaults. Here are the steps:

    1. Scroll left on the Home screen to open the Guide.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select All Settings.
    4. Select System.
    5. Select Console info & updates.
    6. Select Reset console.
    7. On the Reset your console? screen, select Reset and keep my games & apps.
This process will reset corrupted system data without affecting your games, apps and files. You may need to reinstall updates for your device after the reset.

Notify us with the progress. We're here to clear things up.

Xbox app streaming not (any longer) supports two controllers ?

Thank you very much for following up.

No. It doesn't work. Even though connecting two controllers to pc via usb cables, while both function well in Windows, only one of them works in streaming from the Xbox one console. Clicking any button on the other controller just gets no response.

Actually I have tested with two PCs, one custom-build desktop pc, running Win 10 1703, and a Surface 3 tablet, running Win 10 1607. Both are always kept updated and Xbox apps on them are of the same version. All failed.

I suspect it is something with the new Xbox one firmware.

Please help confirm this issue if you have the gadgets in hand.

    Thanks for the quick response.

We recommend connecting the controllers via USB cable and check if you'll encounter the same issue.

Also, temporary issues encountered when streaming games can be resolved by installing the latest system updates for your Windows 10 device. To keep your device up-to-date, check out

We'll be waiting for your response regarding the status of this issue.
