Xbox App Streaming no sound

Any help would be great.

I'm using the Xbox App to stream from the cloud or from my Series X. The video works very well, but the sound is a real problem.

The easiest way to explain the problem is that the sound, when i put on full volume on the phone so i can hear any sound, just makes a low level popping sound when I perform some actions, like moving around in the menus.

My phone is an Android Honor 8x and I'm running over 5ghz WiFi on a 200mb broadband fibre connection.

I'm guessing its a comparability issue with my phone? Please help as I really don't want to have to buy a new phone.
