This is like those annoying phone calls you get to ask if you have LED lighting or Tripple Glazed Windows or now in Australia it's Exhaust Fan covers. They can ring ten to fifteen times a day. Never do they get what they want but they continue. This is just like the Xbox app appearing on the task bar. It's like when you go to a foreign country and trinket salesmen follow you for hours trying to get a sale out of you. They are one step from being a beggar. That's the type of people Microsoft now employ and it shows.

Microsoft, you are creating people that will never use something because you annoy the shizen out of them.

    :)

Xbox app still keeps re pinning itself to task bar.

    Hi ChuckNoland,

Welcome to Xbox Community Forum. Thank you for sharing your concern with us today.

Just to make sure that we get the exact picture of the issue: on your Windows device, the Xbox app keeps pinning on the Taskbar even if you unpin it from the Taskbar, it will just pin itself back or it pins itself back after a restart on the device, correct?

May I know what Windows version, edition and OS build is your Windows device running on? To check, go to Windows Settings > System > About and see under Windows specifications section.

For now, kindly try these steps below:

1: Disable the app in Startup Programs

    Open Task Manager

    Go to the Startup tab

See if the Xbox app is listed

Select the app if yes then click Disable

2: Remove the app from User Pinned folder

    Press Windows key + R

Type the path below and click OK

    %AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar

Right-click on the Xbox app on the list then select Delete

Let me know how it goes.

    Sincerely,

    Marrion

Here are other troubleshooting steps too:

Please disable Xbox Services. Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box.

    Type services.msc and press Enter.

In the Services window, find all Xbox-related services (e.g., Xbox Live Auth Manager, Xbox Live Game Save, Xbox Live Networking Service).

Right-click on each service, select "Properties", and set the "Startup type" to "Disabled".

And then remove from Startup. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.

    Go to the "Startup" tab.

Find the Xbox app in the list, right-click on it, and select "Disable".

Next is to check taskbar settings. Right-click on the taskbar and select "Taskbar settings".

Scroll down to the "Notification area" section and click on "Select which icons appear on the taskbar".

Ensure that the Xbox app is turned off in this list.

    okibandit,

Are you trying to drag and drop or pin to the task bar? If you are trying to drag and drop, try to right click on the icon and pin it to the task bar.

Please keep us advised on your status.

Xbox game bar won´t show up when I press the Xbox button on the xbox one controller.

    Hello

Have you checked if there is an Update on the Microsoft Store for the game bar?

Also you could try restarting the Xbox Game Bar App. Please try the following steps,

    • Right Click on the Task bar
    • Task Manager
    • Find Xbox Game Bar
    • Right Click and End Task,
    • Open up the Start Menu
    • Find and Open Xbox Game Bar near the bottom
