Xbox App still broken in 6 regions after many months!

Hi there! I had made a
previous post on this matter 7 months ago! It was locked however because I was talking with the twitter team. The only reason I am creating a new thread is for reference to the one's that see my feedback (Twitter team, Xbox beta app on Windows 10 feedback)
and because Twitter team seem to have no idea of this issue last time I contacted them. So please do not lock this thread this time. So, as I have informed you and twitter team many months ago, Xbox App is not working properly in 6 regions,

• Ceska Republica
• Slovakia
• Hungary
• Israel
• Saudi Arabia
• United Arab Emirates

The problems that it has are as follows:

1. Recently played does not show Xbox One games (or sometimes shows 1-2 games randomly) and Xbox 360 Backward Compatible games have no box art.
2. Activity feed does not show any Xbox One game activity (achievements, clips, screenshots, etc).
3. Achievements section does not show achievements for any Xbox One game (or sometimes shows 1-2 games randomly) and Xbox 360 Backward Compatible titles have no box art.

Some support agents talked about unavailability of games and just ignored me. Reasons this is not unavailability of games:

• Xbox App showed every game properly until it broke in October 2015 (yes this problem has been active for more than a year)
• Xbox.com and Xbox One shows every game properly as it should, it's only the App that has the issues.
• You can refer to the Store page of the Xbox App in these regions which is filled with users complaining about the same thing. There is even thread on the uservoice website.
• We had the exact same problems in GR region and support recognized it and fixed it. They did not fix it for the other regions though, even though they've fixed a whole bunch of regional issues that I have reported (and I thank them for that).
• You can't possibly believe the fact that every Xbox One game is unavailable in these regions.
• You can't possibly believe the fact that Xbox One games that appear properly in the store of those regions and are available for purchase are unavailable for showing in the Xbox App.

These issues happen only if you use the App in the above languages! Using the app in English or any other language except those 6 will not make these issues come up! I've been told by the support that this is a workaround but has two problems:

• You can't change the Xbox App language on PC unless you change the active keyboard language which is not convenient at all!
• You can't change the Xbox App language on mobile devices at all! In order to change it there, you must format your phone and choose another language as your phone's default language, meaning that it will also change the system language.

Here are some screenshots of the issue:

1. RECENTLY PLAYED AND ACTIVITY FEED: I posted 2 screenshots, one from the Xbox App and one from Xbox.com on the same lanugage (CZ, but it's the same for the other 5 regions) so that you can see that Xbox App is tottaly missing all the Xbox
   One games (For Honor, FIFA 16, Halo 5) and the activity feed shows Qwik's RE7 achievement 5 hours ago, (RE7 is play anywhere, it's on PC and these games appear correctly) when the last thing it should show is an achievement less than a minute ago from Overwatch,
   and some other achievements and clips/screenshots 3-4 hours ago which the App tottaly misses due to being Xbox One games. You can also see that the BC games Peggle, Rayman Origins, The Cave, TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2 have no box art.
   
   
   
   
   
2. ACHIEVEMENTS: You can also see that Xbox One games are also missing (Battlefield 1 loaded randomly, if I refresh it'll probably not load) and that once again, Xbox 360 BC games have no box art. (L.A. Noire is not BC and it has it's box

Re-installing it fixed mine after it being broke for 6 months.

 

Do Not buy an Xbox Elite Contoller

Please do yourself a favor and do NOT buy an Xbox elite controller. I spent 150 dollars and it broke within 6 months. The right bumper broke right off the controller. I have been super careful since it was expensive and is still broke. It is a complete
waste of money. The warranty through Xbox is 90 days, and they will not even repair it. Just loose 150 dollars after 6 months of play for the "elite" controller. Thank you xbox for being completely useless and that is the last time I will buy your products.
Its sad because I love my xbox and would love to stay with the system.

 

This is still an issue for these regions? Come on Microsoft, where is your support?

To start things out, what region are you physically located in? This is the first time I've seen a report for this issue. Keep in mind, cross region accounts aren't supported, so if you're setting your region to somewhere where you aren't physically located
you may run into issues such as the one you're experiencing. Keep us in the loop so that we can best help you out

 

Hi Mister Maka! My region is Greece, however, we had the exact same issue along with those regions for Xbox.com, Xbox One and Xbox App. For Greece, you fixed it accross all the devices but for the above 6 regions you fixed it only for Xbox.com and Xbox One.
The Xbox App is still not working properly.
Here is some other guy reporting this same issue, and also you can refer to the Store pages of the app in these regions where many other gamers are reporting this. My region is Greece and my account is in Greece. But this has nothing to do with that. The
language that I use for the App has nothing to do with games appearing or not. For example, if my main computer language is English, the App will show up in English but the store will still be the Greek store because my account is Greek. So, changing the physical
language of the app has nothing to do with cross region accounts. My account is still Greek, the store still shows Greek currency and the transaction page still appears in Greek. If you don't believe me, I can post some translated user opinions from the Store
pages of the Xbox App where they report the exact same thing. The other day I was watching Qwik's live streaming and a guy just complained for this very same thing. Test this on your own account too if you want, you'll get the same result!

Hi Mister Maka! I just want to drop my 2 cents here.

The past year, we have had many issues with our Xbox Live service (I also leave in Greece). These issues were (but not limited to): Game clips not appearing in game clips category on Xbox.com, Xbox App and Xbox One. Achievements box art not appearing properly
on Xbox.com, achievements tottaly missing from the Xbox App etc (no reason to mention them all because they have been fixed now). The thing is, every single of those issues that existed for GR existed for those 6 regions too (I don't know, maybe we are on
similar servers or something) and every single thing was fixed by Support accross all those regions! To the point now, the issue mentioned by snikefriend above, also existed in our Greek Xbox App. If it's the first time you've heard of it, then it's probably
because you weren't involved on its fix (which is fair because it's a regional issue, not all support has to be aware of it), because the issue existed since October 2015 and got fixed by support around March 2016. But apparently, this wasn't fixed for all
the other regions like all the others did. So the chances are, that this issue also existed in those 6 regions too (like all the other ones, I can make a full list if you want) and the least you can do is to verify this on your end. I've also reported all
these cross regional issues to Twitter support and they fixed it (didn't mention the Xbox App issues though cause I had no idea how you can change the display language in your app).

Finally, snikefriend is also right for the language thing. I live in Greece and the company that I worked to gave us some Windows 10 copies (genuine of course). But because it was a company's licence they had not the Greek language available on install.
When I installed those on my PC they were in English. Xbox App and other Store apps were also appearing in English but the store was still in Greek money (because I had chosen my location to be Greece). So did the Xbox App! It was appearing in English but
the Store was the Greek store with Greek money! The point is that the display language of the app can be any language you want! This won't change your account region, which is stll Greek in my example. You just change the display language, that's all. And
it should work, like the English language which is working fine with Greek accounts!

Again, just my 2 cents here! Hope you can sort this out.

Thanks a ton for all the information you've provided. Apologies for any confusion I may have caused, the three issues you've mentioned in your initial post have already passed off to the appropriate team and are being looked into.

While we don't have an ETA as to when this will be cleared up, please know that it's already been reported to both us and our Twitter team. Please keep in mind that App features and availability can vary from region to region as I mentioned in my previous
post.

After installing the latest update for Xbox App (version 29.29.15001.0) the Xbox App now works as intended and shows the games and achievements properly. However, the Xbox App is now
NOT localised in the above regions. This means that it now appears in English instead of Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, Hebrew and Arabic. Given the fact that the store still lists these languages as supported, I don't know if this is a fix or a
temporary solution. At least now it's a working app. I hope that they restore localisation functionality too.





On Xbox Beta app (which is in version 29.29.8002.0) the app has still these issues but it is localised in the proper languages. I will update you if the Beta app gets "fixed" too!

UPDATE:

You can ignore my latest message. It was a store issue. The app updated again this morning (to the same version as mentioned above) and now appears in the correct languages but is still broken. I will update you if something changes.
