Xbox App Showing Messages I sent to others, as new messages for me to read.

As of the last week, I went from zero unread, to 60 unread messages with only 3-4 actual new messages.

Messages on the app show in Bold when unread, and they appear to all be mine.

I confirmed my count went from 61 unread to 60, after reading one I sent another person. This doesn't seem to be 'Working as Designed' as my messages previously, were not counting towards unread. This would be a catastrophe with massive community backlash,
if this were how Outlook were functioning.

Please correct the app to not require a user to have to read their OWN message, just to make them unbolded, and to take away from the "new messages" count. The new messages should only count messages unread from others. This again, is only happening
in the last week or so. I presume with the "Club/Group" rollout.

Note, I did do an uninstall and reinstall and confirmed it still shows all the messages I sent, and is counting them all towards my 'unread'.

My notifications always show that I have a new message but I have no new messages?

My account always shows that I have a new message on my Xbox One S but I don't have any messages and I Deleted all previous messages just to make sure. Its also showing that I have a message in the Xbox app for Windows 10. How do I get rid of the new
message notification?

XBOX ONE messages icon problem

I have seen old posts asking for help with this problem, but no solutions. My Xbox One message icon is showing that I have (1) message sent to me, but when I look in messages there is nothing that is unread and it's showing I have (0) messages. I have the
same problem with the Xbox app in Windows 10.

I have tried wiping my XBOX ONE completely, but when I log in after a fresh install the problem persists. Has anybody figured out how to fix this annoying little problem?

I have only received one new message from someone else since posting this message, and the "60" unread, has gone back up to 99+.( Something it said before I did an uninstall, and a reinstall and again this is all new in the last week as before that,
it correctly displayed zero new)

After an uninstall and reinstall it went from the 99+ down to 61. And now, one hour later, is back up to displaying 99+ new messages, making it unusable in accurately telling me anymore If I truly have new messages.

Soi have to download app? No way to get it thru xbox online tnru browser? I found whete it shows my messages sent but not ones i receive

You can get your messages through your browser if you go to https://www.xbox.com and sign in with your account.

Then click on your account picture, and go to Messages.

There you can then read and write messages that you receive via Xbox Live.

Change settings so you cant send messages thats the only way you wont get banned and you will see if they are trying to get you banned the messages will show in the inbox but wont go through to the other players also I would delete any personal messages
sent over xbox because they can read them messages without even accessing your account.

I'm having the same problem as you are.

How many of the people on your friends lists messages can't you read ?

For me it's just one.

We both get the message pop up notification, but when either us clicks on the message to read it, the inbox is empty.

We can't read the messages that we sent or the messages that we recieved.

I tried messaging other people on my friends list and there's no problems.

Nope. What im trying to say is there is no message in the first place. like no message from xbox live is sent for i dont know reason. but it says i have a new message and i checked xbox app there isnt a message from xbox live
