Xbox app sees my drive, is installed on my drive, will not let me install games to my drive.

Thank you for providing some additional context on your PC. When you upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 for free, you got your digital entitlement, and that means that as long as you are reinstalling windows ten via our Media creation tool or ISO, you can clean install. So, the information, unfortunately, is not accurate. But back to trying to resolve your issue. Submitting a bug allows my team to see what could be going on. Hoping we can provide a better solution than reinstalling your operating system. If you have submitted the bug, I will have them locate it and take a look. I also have this issue but I reinstalled a fresh copy since the windows store crashed and failed to reopen causing me to do this, I see the files sitting in WindowsApps, I can not delete them even after giving myself full permission. they don't show up in the xbox app either and its taking up 300+ gigabytes of storage that's basically inaccessible.

I've already had three teams review this, and so far all of them have come back to me telling me to format the drive and to reinstall Windows.

The reason I would have to buy a new copy, is that I originally bought 7, and upgraded to 10 when that was an option several years ago. I have since been told that is no longer an option, and the current license will only allow me to install 7 with no upgradability.

The drive is internal.

The drive is already NTSF.

The drive has no issues in any way, with any other system process or platform.

The Xbox app itself is installed on the G drive fine, it's JUST games that won't install. And even when I do install games elsewhere, it's a 50/50 chance if they'll work or not. Sometimes, no error, sometimes it says I don't have access.

Playing online or offline has NO effect on the games or the installation.

And NO, buying a new copy of Windows to install a fresh OS is NOT an option, amazing as that may seem to you people.

Thank you for confirming that my suggested solutions did not resolve the problem. Also, you don't need to rebuy Windows when performing a clean install as you own a license and can be reinstalled whenever you need to. Nor do I like to recommend that as an option until we have exhausted other suggestions. Let's move on to the next thing, which is filing a bug; this will allow me to work with my team, see what could be going on, and try to resolve this problem that could help you and many other users. Below is how to file a bug through the Window Feedback Hub.

1.Open Feedback Hub by clicking on your start menu and searching for it in the search bar. If you do not have the app download it from the Windows store.

1. Select Report a Problem
   
2. Under Summarize your feedback type the title as the following

4. Copy and paste your issue under explaining more detail and click next

5. Make sure Problem is chosen and then on the drop-down menu choose Gaming and Xbox and then on the second drop-down menu choose Game installation

6. Click next on Find similar feedback

7. On Add more details choose other

8. attach a screen shot of the error you posted in this thread and also if you can recreate the problem choose Recreate my problem and provide as much detail as you can.

9. Click the agreement once you have read it

10. Click Submit
