    Xbox App - Remote Connect Troubleshooting


    I have a Series X and a Series S. When I first set them up I connected them to the Xbox app on my android phone. This worked fine for months... I was able to remote play games on either one.

    Today I opened the Xbox app on my phone and it says I had no consoles. I didn't change anything with my network, the phone or the Xboxes... they are just gone. So I tried adding them as existing consoles. It goes to a screen that says "Turn on your console and sign in with your account." I've done that multiple times on both consoles. Nothing happens.

    Things I've tried:

    -Signing out and back in on the Xboxes and the app

    -Full restart of both consoles and the phone

    -Disconnecting and reconnecting to the wifi on all devices

    -Rebooting my cable modem and router

    -Uninstalling and reinstalling the app on my phone

    -Installing the app on a different phone and a tablet

    -Connecting the phone and Xbox to a different wifi network

    -Turning remote features off and back on

    I'm completely out of ideas. Any suggestions?

    Have you tried resetting your console to factory defaults?

    Reset the console to factory defaults, you won't lose anything but you will need to log in with your account again. Email and password are required.

    Follow this path and select reset keeping games and app.

    In 5 to 10 minutes you will finish reconfiguring your console

    To reset the console>

    Settings> System> Console Info> Reset Console

    ***Do not reset your console without having your email and password.***

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with Remote play.

    Your Xbox may not be in "Sleep" mode, which is necessary for remote play capabilities, or you may not have enabled the remote features in your console settings if "remote play" is not available. Check your console settings under "Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Remote features" to ensure it's enabled

    To troubleshoot this issue, please ensure that your Xbox Series S is connected to the internet and that your friend's internet connection is stable. Additionally, make sure that your Xbox Series S is set up for remote gaming by following these steps:



    1. On your Xbox Series S, go to Settings > Devices & connections > Remote features.

    2. Make sure that the "Enable remote features" option is turned on.

    3. Under "Xbox app preferences," make sure that the "Allow connections from any device" option is turned on.



    If the issue persists, please try resetting your Xbox Series S and your friend's internet connection.

    Remote play problems with audio speaking

    Hi Nomad!

    Sorry to hear about what happened. Let's see what we can do about that here.

    Let's try to restart your remote play connection:
    - Open the Xbox app on your device, and then select your console from the list to start a remote play session.
    - From your connected device, press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then go to Profile & system > Power > Restart console.
    - After the console restarts, start a new remote play session to confirm that your audio issues have been resolved.

    Don't forget to check this setting from your console too:
    Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
    Go to Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Remote features.
    Select the Enable remote features checkbox.
    Under Power options, select Sleep.
    Note: If your console power mode isn't set to Sleep, remote play won't work.
