There are instances wherein the Game bar doesn't recognize the gameplay you're trying to record in windowed mode. To resolve this, we suggest running the game in full screen mode. To do this, start the game, go to video options and turn on full screen mode.

1. Click Start and click Settings.
2. Select System.
3. Select Apps & features.
4. Find the game and click Advanced options.
5. Click Reset.
6. Restart your device so that the changes can take effect. Launch the Xbox app and check if the same thing occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Select System.
3. Select Storage.
4. Click This PC.
5. Scroll down and look for Temporary files.
6. Select Temporary files and click Remove files.

I did every solution at once except for the update one since everything is updated and I'm able to record again thanks.

I do know that the Xbox smartphone app sometimes gives that “past behavior” error message when it glitches out, despite you having a clean record.

Try changing your gamerpic on a Windows 10 computer, using the built-in Xbox app.

I'm having this issue as well, been trying record all day but to no avail. Like oX said, when you tell it to "Record That" there is no notification or feedback that did it record it. When you manually do it through the Game DVR app, it says "Sorry, we couldn't
record that" and gives an error number of sorts.
