Xbox app (PC) doesn't allow me to install any game (0x80070424)

I got a new Win 10 notebook and just tried to see how different games awr working on it in game pass I just bought (Stardew Valley and Halo Infinite). Xbox app all by itself autonomously inslatted solitaire games for whatever reason, but when I clicked to download Halo I got 0x80070424 error message. Tried with something smaller - Stardew Valley. The issue is the same in both cases.

I tried dozens of different guides, tricks, helps etc and came to a point where I had to restart my new Win 10 installation because Game Services were not present among apps on this pc.

After that I started to see Gaming Services again, but... the issue still exists (even for Solitare).

Tried this once again: https://www.reddit.com/r/XboxGamePa...ror_0x80070424_fix_guide_if_your_download_is/ but I get errors in PowerShell on "get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers" stage.

EDIT:// The freaking Xbox app can install what I really bought (Book of Demons) but apparently can't install games from Game Pass....

Hi there Małgorzata welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Well, I suggest you try this:

Open the Settings app it is the gear in the start menu.

Open Accounts

Click Sign-in Options

Scroll down to Privacy

Uncheck "Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device and reopen my apps after an update and restart."

Restart your PC!

The Microsoft Store app doesn't really appear to be able to connect with my Xbox account in any meaningful way. It displays ads for me to buy Game pass for PC or Game Pass Ultimate, and when I select a game it tries to install it on my PC.

Do you know why Microsoft created so many apps that have "Xbox" in the title that don't actually connect to Xbox? It's confusing and bad UX. It's also a bizarre choice to have features like Remote Install/Download and Remote Play for Xbox but not allow basic stuff like viewing your game library and managing installs.

So, I figured it out. You need to format the external drive as a NTFS. Then in the storage settings set all new applications to install on the new drive. The Xbox app will install on that drive and all your games as well. Kindly see it on this link. Xbox PC app doesn't allow me to install games on external hard - Microsoft Community

Is it possible to install an xbox game on pc and play it?

Microsoft/Xbox allows players to "Buy once, Play Anywhere" on PC or Xbox. The game list is extensive but does not cover all.

Simply visit

https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/xbox-play-anywhere

if you own the game (make sure to sign in first) you can play any of those games, on PC or Xbox.

Xbox Game Pass Owners have access to the Xbox App (PC) games that are installable to PC and Xbox.

Visit https://www.xbox.com/en-US/apps/xbox-app-for-pc for Xbox App (PC) for the official app for PC.

Unfortunately, tons of users are reporting this issue with no clear fix! Some have been able to select their EHDD after some steps. Okay try this: Open the Settings app (the gear in the start menu)

Open Accounts

Click Sign-in Options
