  1. Xbox app party chat bluetooth headphone problems

So I used to be able to use my bluetooth Google Pixel Buds in the Xbox app to talk in party chat. Now after a few Xbox app updates I can't hear anyone in party chat. I can talk to them, but can't hear them. I switch it to wired headphones and it fixes the problem. Tested this with my Apple airpods aswell and same issue as Pixel buds.

Don't believe it's on my end because the app used to work with bluetooth headphones until the most recent update on Android. I have a Google Pixel 4a (5G) phone

    Cold blooded

    Hi Robert

I have had the same problem. Officially there is no way to connect bluetooth headphones to your xbox one. I even looked for a headphone aplifier but they were all wired too.

I did however connect to party chat through my phone or pc app and continue gaming on tv.

I know your issue is netflix etc. Can you connect your buds to the tv directly and route audio via the tv?

Xbox party chat on PC reduces audio quality from Bluetooth headphones

I would speculate that the additional bandwidth of party chat may cause problems using Bluetooth in retaining quality.

I’d recommend plugging in the headset directly via usb if this is a possible, or if you have the means using an Xbox wireless adapter either with compatible headphones or. An Xbox controller. These systems use WiFi direct which is much higher bandwidth.

    Xbox party chat ?

Hi, GWLADYS my name is Jhon, and will be a pleasure help you

There are several options for Xbox party chat without wearing a traditional headset:

    Speakers and Microphone:

Connect a USB microphone and external speakers or soundbar to your Xbox. This provides a hands-free option with decent audio quality, but microphone placement is crucial to avoid picking up background noise.

    Bluetooth Headset with Audio Out:

Some Bluetooth headsets offer dual audio out, allowing you to connect them to your Xbox via Bluetooth for voice chat and your TV via an audio cable for game audio. This can be a comfortable option, but check headset compatibility.

Microsoft Wireless Adapter for Stereo Headphones:

This adapter connects your TV's optical audio output to your Xbox controller, enabling wireless game audio reception on most stereo headphones. While not strictly party chat, you can use the controller microphone or a separate USB microphone connected to the Xbox for voice chat.

    Discord App on Mobile:

Download the Discord app on your phone, join your friends' server, and connect to the voice chat. Use your phone's speaker or headphones for audio and the built-in microphone or separate headphones for chatting. This option involves additional device usage but offers flexibility and access to wider Discord communities.

    Xbox Remote Play:

If you have a PC or laptop with a good microphone and speakers, use the Xbox Remote Play app to stream your Xbox to your PC. You can then use the PC's audio and microphone for party chat and game audio. This requires a strong internet connection for good streaming quality.

    Considerations:

Microphone quality: Regardless of the option you choose, prioritize a decent microphone to ensure clear voice chat with your friends.

Background noise: Be mindful of background noise in your environment and position your microphone accordingly for better voice clarity.

Latency: Bluetooth connections can sometimes introduce audio latency, so consider wired options if lag is a concern.

Ultimately, the best option for you depends on your budget, preference for comfort, and the audio setup you already have. Try out different options and see what works best for your gaming experience!

    I hope this information helps!

My friends in party chat hear me as distorted and robotic

Same problem, I tricked by putting a bluetooth USB stick and connecting a pair of bluetooth headphones with integrated microphone. It seems that the recent update conflicts with the integrated sound card of the motherboard (I state that I have not tried to update the audio driver or bios as the problem is due to an update of xbox chat)
The problem is for all windows user

Volume settings not available (grey), mic with slash symbol on home screen, unable to use any EarPods

Hi Gabriela, my name is Joel, I'm here to help you with any problems or questions you may have.

Gabriela, Xbox consoles are not compatible with the type of headset you are trying to use, it is only compatible with headphones and microphones connected to the 3.5mm audio port of the controller or the Xbox wireless headset or other third party headphones but that work by radio frequency not by Bluetooth.
