Xbox app on windows, mic not working

hey everyone/anyone, im using a turtle beach recon headset with a 3.5 mm mic, works on my xbox and works for everything aside from the xbox app, i can hear my friends in parties but they are unable to hear me. It does not matter if they are using the xbox
or their pc, if im using the xbox app they cannot hear me, ive tried using my old mic but the same problem occurs. the 3.5 goes into a splitter on my pc, (green/pink) the devices are all set correctly (default device realtek) i have apps enabled to use my
mic, ive tried manipulating the properties as ive seen in certain videos but they have all failed to solve my problem. does anyone know the fix for this? or have had the same problem?

Have you tried to check for any pending driver updates?

Make sure all drivers are all up to date. We recommend manually downloading the latest driver from the hardware vendor’s website to make sure the one installed on your PC is updated. Outdated or incompatible
drivers could cause issues such as this one.

A network connectivity issue can affect you from communicating your friends when using the Xbox app on Windows 10. For us to isolate the issue, kindly launch the Xbox app, then check the Network status. Can you tell me the server connectivity and the NAT
type showing on the app? Also, can you tell us any troubleshooting steps that you have tried so far?

Same problem here. I've tried my Logitech wireless headset as well as a USB headset. Both work fine in Windows apps, but no mic on Xbox Streaming for game chat, voice messages, or parties. It does seem to work in the Xbox app Parties though.

USB Mic hooked up to PC. Using The Windows 10 Xbox App for party chat. I have a separate headset (broken mic, thus the reason for using the Yeti) on the Xbox One X console. I want to be able to communicate, and the only way I'm able to, at the moment,
is the party app. My earbuds that have a mic on them works with the controller and console but the audio quality isn't very good. That's why I want to use my better headset to hear all the audio while I talk through the mic on the app. I don't know if it's
possible. Just hoping there's a work-around

The troubleshooting steps I have taken are resetting the Xbox app, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, checking permissions and made sure the app is up to date. The mic works fine in the game bar except for the party overlay, I can click the mute/unmute button but it has no effect. My headset is a Corsair Void Elite and is connected via the Corsair wireless USB dongle. I have tested my mic works multiple times through windows and the Xbox app itself, and I have no problems with any other app just the Xbox app party chat.
