xbox app on windows 8

Discus and support xbox app on windows 8 in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; i use a windows 8 laptop.. have xbox app through the windows store.. for about a week i cant get it too open or log me in and then it crashes..cant...     i use a windows 8 laptop.. have xbox app through the windows store.. for about a week i cant get it too open or log me in and then it crashes..cant even answer a message, ..

    never had a problem with it before.. this morning i uninstalled it and reinstalled, its doing the samething... help!!!!

    what's the point in smart glass

    Smartglass is more a legacy app and still exists for those on Windows Phone 8 or Windows 8 where the Xbox App does not (yet) exist. For Windows 10, you are right in that the Xbox App essentially replaces Smartglass.

    Xbox One will play Windows 8 apps?

    I didn't expect every Win8 app to work, but I do hope there is some integration of apps.

    console companion is a windows 8 app, and like windows 8 is no longer supported

    The Xbox app built into windows is the intended software since Windows 10

    I think it might mean you have to sync it with the Windows Phone for Desktop app (Windows 7), the Windows Phone app (Windows 8) or even Windows 8's Xbox Music app.

    When trying remote play on my PC I get told I need to update but I have no updates.

    The console companion app is for windows 8 and like windows 8 support for it has been discontinued. You need to use the Xbox app that's built into windows 10/11
