xbox app on pc wont resume my download windows 11

Hi there Bumi welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. What troubleshooting have you tried? I had the same issue and updating all my drivers solved this "dead space" issue.

FIXED: I had the same problem but what I did was I went into the Xbox app (Note: I'm on windows 11) and I went to library and I saw an installation was paused. It was called "Error". I resumed the installation and now I downloaded it successfully!

In my case, the issue was caused by something I chose to do (and was advised to) with Windows 11 - throttling Windows Update download speeds.

Windows Update > Delivery Optimization > Advanced Settings

I had previously had issues with download speeds on my new Windows 11 PC and was told that Windows Update sometimes hogged all the resources. I went here and limited its bandwidth. Unfortunately, Microsoft neglects to tell you that it ties Windows Store and the Xbox app downloads into the same resources as Windows Update, so when I chose to limit Update I also kneecapped Store and Xbox. I reset everything there to what it was before, restarted my PC, checked to make sure my changes were saved, and then went to the Xbox app. Lo, it downloads my games normally now.

(Incidentally, this is another in a line of incidents I've had with Windows 11, Xbox app, or Microsoft stuff, where I went to the communities and support staff, no one could help me, and I went and found the solution myself)

The “Xbox” app on my PC, and “Game Bar” will not work. I tried a bunch of different solutions, I even reset my pc and upgraded from windows 10 > windows 11, but nothing is working. When I open the “Xbox” app it just pops up for a second (black screen with white xbox logo in the middle) then it closes, and “Game Bar” wont open at all. Can someone please help?

When I said I downloaded "11", I meant WINDOWS 11. When I played XBOX games for PC, I entered through Window"s pathway from boxes on Window"s entry system. I never downloaded an app. Solitaire, majhong, and jigsaw puzzle were part of Microsoft Games offered for PC. Paid for through Microsoft games., $9.99 monthly.
