Xbox App on PC Chat issues

hi,

chat on the Xbox APP my friend's cannot hear me but I can hear them. I tried 3 different headphones, tested mic and is working fine. I've uninstalled the app and reinstalled. did windows updates. tested all 3 headphones on the Xbox and they all work fine. APP just stopped working on its own.

Anyone use Xbox app on PC?

All my chat history is gone except from the last few days of chat.

Everything is ok on Xbox app Beta, Phone app and Console.

So how come my chat history is missing on Xbox-app on PC, but everything ok on Xbox-app Beta on PC, Phone-app, Console and Xbox Game Bar? Only Xbox-app is missing chat history. Happened after last update.

I can use Xbox-app Beta until the issue has been solved, but prefer the usual Xbox-app on PC.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

hi,

all was set correct. did not need to change anything all was good. very weird Xbox support said it might be a windows 11 issue, but not sure.

hi,

I have already reinstalled all Xbox apps including game bar through power shell, removed and installed in power shell. also, the headphones 5 days old and have been updated. they use a USB dongle to connect to the PC and do not run through my internal sound card. when I called and was able to speak with Microsoft, they were kind of stumped also on what the issue is.

If that's the case, please try to update your Windows, Device Drivers, Xbox, and gaming services app:

Windows:

Press the Start button on the taskbar, type settings, and then select Settings.

On Windows 10, select Update & Security. On Windows 11, select Windows Update.

On the Windows Update page, select Check for updates to see if any updates are available for your device.

Once the updates have downloaded, select Install now to start the installation.

Following installation, we recommend that you restart your device so that the latest updates can take effect.

Device Drivers:

For the best game performance, make sure your system’s video card drivers (or display adapter drivers) are up to date. Drivers are available on the support website for your computer manufacturer, or if your computer system is custom built, on the video card manufacturer’s support website. Updating video card drivers can resolve game crashes, improve frame rates, and improve overall game performance.

Xbox and gaming services:

Press the Start button on the taskbar, type store, and open the Microsoft Store app.

Select Library.

Under Updates & downloads, check if there are any updates available for the Xbox app or Gaming Services app. If an update is available, select Update.

You may also need to report this issue using the Xbox Report a Problem app. You can download the app through this link:

A gamer Mike Guizzetti who had a similar issue posted a solution:

I had to disable IPv6 so my router did not use Teredo, after that was off if you go into "Start -> Settings" and search for "Xbox Networking" verify your NAT connection, should be Open.

Remove the game bar by opening Powershell and running the following command:

Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay | Remove-AppxPackage

then open the game store and search for "Xbox Console Companion" install and try party chat again."
