Xbox app not working with WiFi unless I open it up with data

Reach out to your network provider and ask them to open these ports for you.

Usually, there is a list of ports that is used by Xbox Live, which is this:

Port 88 (UDP)

Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)

Port 53 (UDP and TCP)

Port 80 (TCP)

Port 500 (UDP)

Port 3544 (UDP)

Port 4500 (UDP)

not every app works properly in the Wifi - sometimes the app can't send the IME via the Wifi and therefore lock functions.

This is a guess, I do not know the source code of the app.

I assume that if it doesn't work in any Wifi, that's exactly the case! And so the cellular data must remain switched on!!!

I disconnected my computer from the internet and then plugged my phone into the computer and left the wifi on the phone on. this didn't work. ALTHOUGH, when I turned off my wifi and left my mobile data on the xbox app worked perfectly. I assume this means the issue is my internet.

But, what about trying with a different wifi?

For example share mobile data via wifi hotspot and connect your PC in that way.

By the way, if you open another game with online functionalities, are you able to use or find matches?

Let's try double check your NAT status and connectivity to Xbox network:

Open Xbox Console companion app > Settings > Network

Sorry it took so long to reply but I had to work a lot this week.

Anyways, I tried all of the above and it still does not work. When I connect through wifi on my network it works right away with no issues. When I use my unlimited at&t data, or friends wifi or works wifi it doesn't work, and it use to work on all of those. Side note the remote control works on the app weather i'm on wifi or data so it's definitely seeing my xbox. Remote play still nothing but a black screen. If I could upload a video here I could show you but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that.
