Xbox app not recognizing my external hard drive

    Xbox app not recognizing my external hard drive


    I have set new content to be saved right onto my external hard drive from the storage settings and on the Xbox app, yet the Xbox still doesn't recognize the hard drive when going to install, and there's been multiple instances where has been recognized but the installation gets cancelled due to an error message.

    I've tried reinstalling the app, and removing my external hard drive, my PC is also fully updated yet nothing has worked

    Yes my main Xbox recognizes the external hard drive. I have already power cycled my other Xbox and reset it in an attempt to get it to recognize the hard drive, but nothing has worked so far

    Done it! No thanks to anyone on the forums! Extremely unhelpful!

    If anyone else is have the same problem here is a link to reformatting external hard drives. Likely your hard drive will show as unrecognized so just follow that section. Pretty simple in the end.
