Xbox app not connecting to my Xbox series X

My Xbox app wont connect to my Xbox series X. When I click set up a new console, the code is not appearing on my TV, when I click add an existing console, it says try again in a bit. Something went wrong, and it has said that for the past week, can anybody help me? I have searched for ways to fix it like resetting my Xbox or phone, but it wont work.
