Xbox App - Messages "Had trouble getting your conversations."

An outdated version of the application and corrupted installation files are possible reasons why you're having issues with the Xbox app on Windows 10.

If the same instance occurs, kindly reset the Xbox app. Here are the steps:

1. Click the Start button and click Settings.
2. Select System.
3. Select Apps & features.
4. Find the Xbox app and click Advanced options.
5. Click Reset.
6. Restart your device so that the changes can take effect.
7. Launch the Xbox app and check if the same issue occurs.

With regard to the error you're getting on the Xbox console, kindly perform the following solutions:

Solution 1: Clear Persistent Storage

1. Scroll left on the Home screen to open the Guide.
   
2. Select Settings.
3. Select All Settings.
4. Select Disc & Blu-Ray.
5. In the Blu-Ray section, select Persistent Storage.
6. Select Clear persistent storage.
7. Restart your Xbox One console.

Solution 2: Clear MAC Address

1. Scroll left on the Home screen to open the Guide.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select All Settings.
4. Select Network.
5. Select Network settings.
6. Select Advanced settings.
7. Select Alternate MAC address.
8. Select Clear.
9. Select Restart.

Solution 3: Remove and re-add your Microsoft account on Xbox One

Hi , thanks for the reply , I have the same issue , each time I attempt to send a message on the Xbox app for win10 i get We coudn`t send this . Try again later , and when i check my messages i get

Based on how you described the issue, it appears that a content in the app is corrupted. To properly isolate your concern, we suggest that you click on this

link and download the Windows App troubleshooter. Once downloaded, run it on your computer.

If the issue persists, restart your computer to normal startup. This process will disable the unnecessary apps running at the background while you are using your computer.

Here's how:

1. Press Windows + R on the keyboard.
2. Type msconfig, and then click OK.
3. On the General tab, click the Normal Startup, and then click OK.
4. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Restart.

After performing the steps above, launch the Xbox App and check if you can access the messages.

I tried both of these and neither one worked. It did say that the store cache might be corrupted. I am wondering though that if the store cache was corrupted, wouldnt it effect the whole app? The whole thing is not effected though. I still see the achievements
and forum posts in real time, but it is JUST the messages that are effected. It will not show any conversations, and it will not let me send messages. I also went to xbox.com and send a message from there. It was only showing messages up to April 5. It
is the 20th. When I tried to send a message from the website, it said that it was unable to at this time as well. I posted on a different forum that my xbox rewards were not working right either. It is not recognizing my account as being gold when it has
been for a few YEARS now. They responded that it had to do with an insider update and they were looking into it. Could one of those insider updates affected the messages on the account as well? I can get messages on my console, and sometimes on my phone
(i don't always receive the notification that a message was received to the account). It is really messed up because this all seemed to happen in a short time span from each other too.

• Were you able to send messages on Xbox.com?
• Have you tried sending messages using a different profile on the same computer?
