Xbox app message notifications not working

I am not being notified of messages via the Xbox app on my phone. When I check “message” in Settings, it refuses to save. Every other box will save the settings if I check it, but not message. Please assist. iPhone 7 Plus running 11.0.3.

Message notifications not working on PC or iOS apps. iOS app message notification's sound haven't been working since the past 3-5 updates now.

Already uninstalled via powershell (admin mode), restart, redownload, restart, launch, still not working.

 

Notification problem

No message notifications since last update (22-dec-2016)

Sounds for notifications have not worked since past 3-5 updates

Have removed app, restarted phone, reinstalled, restarted phone, launched app. Yes all settings for notifications / sound / etc are on and have been toggled off, restarted, toggled on, restarted.

UPDATE: Notifications working now, but still no sound when phone locked or in another app. Sound only plays when in xbox app but not while messaging portion of app is displayed.

Same here. I'm running iPhone 8 with iOS 11.1. And updated the app this morning too!

 

I've been having the same problem for about a year now and you are literally the only person I have found that has this problem. I'm glad to know that I am not alone, but it is still annoying that I have only found this. Microsoft needs to fix it. BTW this
is iOS 11.4 with the latest version of the Xbox app.

 

Are you not getting push notifications or is it not showing you the icon inside the app to let you know how many new messages you have?

 

Only seeing iOS users with problems. Could it just be iOS itself causing the issue?

 

Hi! For my iPhone what's worked for me sometimes is i'll double tap home button and completely close the app and reopen and it'll work sometimes, other times it's just the app not working and ill try the next day and it'll work fine. For notifications I've
had to go to settings and check allowed access for the app.

 

I'm on android and I'm having the same problem. I will click notify me of messages and I'll go back and check later and it till be unclicked and when I try to click it, it won't work. Happens on wifi and cell network. Happens on my phone and tablet so its
a problem with microsoft not ios or android

 

Same. Android LG G6... every time I click the message icon the next day it's unclicked

Sorta the same, on Note 9.

But all my settings (in the app and in Android settings for the app and notifications in general) are correct and stay correct. I simply do not get notifications from it.

Even in app the messages will not update unless I manually refresh the messages page or open the conversation with the person I was expecting a message from or know there is one from cause the notice popped up on my TV but I don't want to open the Xbox menus
and risk timing out of my GTA session. Rockstar is brutal with that minute and a half timer... lol

 

In the settings on the iOS App, every time I check the box to turn on notifications for the messages, it is not actually turning on and when I go to another menu and come back 2 seconds later, the box is not checked anymore. I never get notifications for
my messages and I also have to refresh it by hand, and even that is quirky. To refresh it, I have to 1) send a message to that person, 2) go to the screen with the list of conversations I have and keep pressing the refresh button in the corner, etc. It is
very annoying. It means that I am both not getting the push notifications AND there is no badge icon.

 

For me, it is bad enough that it even happens when I go to another menu in the Xbox app and then go back to the notification settings menu 2 seconds later.
