Xbox app loses Games and files missing.

Hi,

ive been having this problem a few times now where i start up my xbox game app to find nothing is there, I could have 10 or so games on this prior but all of a sudden nothing, and its quite a mistery and very fustrating.

ive had everything from ARK to frostpunk go missing but they only seem to be effected if they are a microsoft installed game, so games installed through other apps like EA or Ubisoft stay on the xbox app and are playable. Whats gotten wierder is i cant find the installed games folders anywhere even after reinstalling the game no folders seem to apear.

ive tried installing them on my C: and D: drives then searched the drives and the xboxgames folder but nothing its very odd.

so far i have tried reseting the app, the store, and resetting the pakage with get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers but nothing seems to work and the only game to servive seems to be valhime for the moment.

i would really like to get this fixed as nothing is worse than coming home to find that game you have wanted to play all day has dissapeard.

Sorry to hear about what happened. Let's do our best here to get this sorted out.

First, be sure to install the latest updates of your Windows and get all available updates from the Microsoft Store.

If you have 3rd party anti-virus software installed or only Windows Defender, please disable it temporarily along with the Firewall settings. Once done disabling it, observe if your games are still being uninstalled or removed automatically.

You could as well perform a clean boot.

Hi Rostom.

I have tried all the updates and running clean boot it all worked fine and games arnt being uninstalled.

but when i restarted my pc yesturday the same thing happend, everything was gone and i had to download them again.

If you are logged in to Xbox, you won't lose any progress as all of that information is stored in the cloud under your Xbox account. Hopefully it's not a memory issue and just one where a file is missing because an uninstall/reinstall will fix that.
