    Xbox App Game Streaming: Unable to Stream to Console Workaround


    Unable to use Game Streaming (when it worked previously)

    We’ve received reports from some users having trouble initiating game streaming to their Xbox One console via the Xbox App. In particular, this occurs for users who use the Xbox App for game streaming several times successfully, and find all of the sudden
    they can no longer initiate game streaming due to an error.

    The development team is investigating this issue and working to resolve it, however, if you find that you’re unable to initiate game streaming to your Xbox One console (particularly if it worked previously), please hard reset your console, then attempt to
    initiate game streaming.

    To perform a hard reset:

    • Hold down the power button on the front of your console for about
      5 seconds until it restarts, OR
    • Double tap the Xbox button to launch the Guide (or navigate to the left if on the dashboard), navigate to
      Settings, and select Restart console.
    Game Streaming fails in Developer Mode

    In addition to the above issue, we're aware of an issue affecting users who install the Developer Preview app on their console, and are subsequently unable to use Game Streaming via the Xbox App. The development team is investigating this issue and working
    to resolve it, however, at the time the only workaround is to completely opt out of the Developer Preview.

    I'm also unable to hear or chat when in a party when I stream an xbox game on my desktop via the Xbox App; once I stop streaming - chat is restored.

    I am trying to stream my Xbox TV app (like game streaming) to my PC and get the err: "This app cannot be streamed. It is only for your console. (0x87e10004)".

    Does this mean I will never be able to stream the TV app to my PC?

    In what way do you mean?

    Watch a stream while playing a game or stream the PC game you are playing?

    If it's stream the game you are playing, no it's not possible. You can only use the Twitch app on the Xbox to stream Xbox console games.

    To watch a stream on the console, it's easy, just launch the app, then log in, and find a stream you want to watch, then start a game on your PC.

    Sorry, but it is not currently possible to upload console-streamed game videos. When you record a streamed game, the GameDVR video is associated with the Xbox app, not with the streamed game (because the recording feature doesn't know you are streaming or
    what you are streaming). Consequently it cannot be uploaded (Xbox Live knows that the Xbox app is not a game).

    Stream xbox to pc

    The above link will give you guidance on how to stream the xbox to a pc.

    As others have stated your laptop may not have the right connection to do it is a hdmi cable connection so this solution may be best for you.
