Xbox app freezing when being left open (unused) for a certain length of time

I'll often launch the Xbox app and just leave it running in the background, but I've noticed that after a certain length of time of not using it, when I click on its taskbar shortcut to look at it, it's frozen and is unresponsive. It will then crash and
restart itself, and Event ID 2484 will appear in the event log: -

Package Microsoft.XboxApp_9.9.28033.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe+Microsoft.XboxApp was terminated because it took too long to suspend.

Automatic downloads remotely via app

been having problems with remote downloads I purchase via app not installing to console they just go to ready to install. But when I restart Xbox one s the downloads will start. Also I can never turn the console on via the app after a certain length of time
that Xbox has been in instant on. All my setttings are correct for these basic features to work. My patience is wearing thin now

 

Gamertag clearout

I was told that over a certain period of time gamertags that are unused get erased? If that is true when is the next clearout?

 

Hey, Sigma! Be sure to submit this through your Beta app so that it gets straight to the team that works on this. They do check out these forums, but submitting feedback will be the quickest way to ensure they have all the information they need.

 

Hey, Miss Q. I'm just using the regular version at the moment, but I'll give the beta another go and see if it happens with that.

It might also explain why notifications are hit and miss, cos if the app is freezing up after being open for X amount of time, that'll be why I don't get message notifications.

 

It might, yeah. The Beta app is a great resource for customers like yourself because you can easily report issues through it if they are still happening in there. Keep us updated!

 

sigma its nice seeing you here. this same thing is happening to me as well and a lot of people. the app just keeps freezing. I have reported it

Hey, diddy! Have you tried the beta? Are you having the same issue with that? I've just switched over to using the beta, so I'll post back if I have issues with it (and report it through the app).

 

This just happened the first time I left the beta running idle in the background, so I submitted a report via the app.

This time, 2 events were logged: -

And then a few seconds later: -

I updated to the latest beta version earlier (build 11.10.29014) and the issues persist with this version. If I leave the app running but unused for a few minutes, when I come back to it it's frozen and the 2 events mentioned in my previous post are logged
in event viewer. This is repeatable every time, so you should be able to replicate it easily enough.

I reported it through the app again.

The latest version of the app still has this problem, but it also has another annoying problem. When you're typing a message to a friend, the cursor freezes up as you're typing, then after a few seconds it'll unfreeze and everything you typed during that
time suddenly pops into view. This happens on and off as you're typing the message.

 

I have noticed that this only happens when my windows 10 tablet and my windows 10 phone does this when there is a update going in to the app or the phone and the about 6 hours later it is working fine but sometimes you do have to sign in to xbox.com via
the internet on that device to get it working again

 

Do any of the people who created this app actually use it on the regular? The current version is ***. I'm so fed up of reporting the same *** over and over and over and over again, both on the Xbox One and with Windows 10 and its apps.
