Xbox app freezes on Launching the Xbox App

I understand that you are experiencing issues launching your Xbox App.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

Please repair Xbox App. Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & Features.

Find the Xbox app, click on it, and select Advanced Options.

Choose Repair.

And then update the Xbox App. To do this, open the Microsoft Store go to the Library, and check for updates for the Xbox app.

Next is to clear the Microsoft Store cache. Press Win + R, type wsreset, and press Enter. This will clear the cache.

Make sure that your system's date, time, and region settings are correct.

Then install Xbox Identity Provider and Gaming Services. Search for these in the Microsoft Store and install them if they are missing.

Start Necessary Services. Open the Services app and ensure services like IP Helper and Xbox Services are running.

Kindly open PowerShell as an administrator and run the following commands:

get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-appxpackage -allusers

start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

Restart your PC after running these commands.

Your Windows operating system should always be up to date.

there's a temp fix I found, to stop it from crashing, once you load the app, quickly click on friends and choose favorites. it will not crash, but if you go from favorites back to friends, it may crash

To add more information, actually it looks like the app *does* load eventually!

After waiting for maybe half an hour, i checked the app and it was loaded and working.

It was the same yesterday, i let it run in the background for a long time and eventually i checked it and it was working...

I don't understand why it takes so long though. But it does seem to work in the end...

I can now confirm having done many tests that this issue is related to friends. everyone that has this issue have a lot of friends. I had like 300 and it kept crashing. I signed in using my second ms/xbox account that had only 1 friend and it didn't crash.
I then removed more than 200 of my friends from my main account and it is not crashing anymore. I currently have less than 100 friends and my Xbox app is working flawlessly. This shows it has something to do with the Hugh friends list. I removed most of my
friends cause I don't play with them anymore. I suggest you don't do the same and wait for a fix from the Xbox team.
