Xbox App for PC reports that it is "Unable To Display Right Now"

The XBOX app is having the issue 'Cannot display right now =(' message, and when I select a game or app from the xbox app it says 'Looks like you're sranded...There might ne a problem with the app. Try it again in a while'.

I contacted xbox in the past because I could not install games anymore, or update the any from the library. I was recommended to clean fresh install windows, but the issue with xbox app still was happening. Now, this new error has been occurring about 3 days ago.

    1. When did the issue start? 3 days ago for this issue.

    2. Are you getting specific error code?

    'Cannot display right now =('

'Looks like you're sranded...There might ne a problem with the app. Try it again in a while'.

    3. How are you connected with the internet? Is it wired or wireless or using home connection?

    Home wifi no issues.

    4. Are you using third-party antivirus?

No, only built in windows defender.

I've done the recommended steps outlined above. Also, uninstalled the xbox app, and reinstalled, and also created a new local user profile to make sure it wasn't a corrupt user profile.

    The issue still remains.

    :)

Xbox App for PC reports that it is "Unable To Display Right Now"

    Hello Steven T. Beaudrot,

Thank you for the information and truly appreciate for performing the provided troubleshooting steps. We do have other strategy to try.

By the way, can you provide us the version of Windows and Xbox app you are using? To check, press Windows key + R and type winver in the run dialog box and hit enter.

For the meantime, we will try creating a new user account. This will help us identify if the user profile is corrupted. To create a new user profile, see this link: Create a local user or administrator account in Windows - Microsoft Support

We look forward to your response. Kindly let us know, if there is any misunderstanding or clarifications of our description by sending us a reply.

    Sincerely,

    Hello Johnny_Brown,

    Greetings!

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

We have noticed that you have posted the same topic and split this to get the proper assistance. It appears that you have issues launching games through Xbox app. Let us help you get to the bottom of this.

If we may ask, what are the troubleshooting steps performed so far? Have performed the troubleshooting steps suggested above?

For the meantime, here are the additional troubleshooting steps that we can perform:

Make sure Windows is up to date

    • Press the Start button on the taskbar, type settings, and then select Settings.
    • On Windows 10, select Update & Security. On Windows 11, select Windows Update.
    • On the Windows Update page, select Check for updates to see if any updates are available
including optional updates for your device.

    • Once the updates have downloaded, select Install now to start the installation.
    • Following installation, we recommend that you restart your device so that the latest updates can take effect.
Check your network connection: Ensure that your network connection is stable and fast enough to launch the app. You can check your network status by launching the Xbox app > “Settings” > “Network”

    Uninstall and reinstall Gaming Services

    • Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type powershell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and then select Run as administrator.
    • In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:
      get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
    • In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:
      start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN
    • Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.
    • Restart your device and try to install the game again.

Make sure Xbox Services are running.

    • Press the Windows key + R shortcut to open the Run dialog box. Type services.msc in the box and press Enter.
    • In the Services window, scroll down to locate the Xbox Accessory Management Service. Double-click on it to open its Properties.
    • Use the drop-down menu next to the Startup type to select Automatic. Then, click Apply followed by OK.
    • Repeat the above steps to change the startup type for these services – Xbox Live Auth Manager, Xbox Live Game Save, and Xbox Live Networking Service to Automatic. After that, restart your PC and sign in to the Xbox app again.

We look forward to your response. Kindly let us know, if there is any misunderstanding or clarifications of our description by sending us a reply.
