Xbox app for pc downloading excruciatingly slow

I got a new AMD graphics card recently which means I got a month of Xbox game pass, but I get on the app and start downloading a 700mb game and it downloads at 68 kbps. That's kilobit (extremely slow) while I can download valorant patch at 1.4 mbps at the exact same time. Even stopping valorant and letting Xbox download it doesn't get any faster. I don't have fast internet by any standard, but **** is this.

To download the 45gb game I brought my pc to my uncle's house because he has gigabit and he let me use it, but even there it was downloading at only 1mbps max.

I have tried changing the bandwidth limit in windows settings because other people say it worked for them, but it makes absolutely no difference. I even set it to 1% to see what happened and still the same speed between 100% and 1%.

I finally managed to fix it, at least for me... was getting 7-9 MB/s and I am now getting 33-40 MB/s. The Windows Auto-tuning level was disabled.

Pause all downloads and close the Xbox app.

Here is what fixed it :

1. Open PowerShell as administrator.

2. Enter this command -> netsh interface tcp show global.

3. For me, the "Receive Window Auto-Tuning Level" was set to disabled.

4. To enable it, enter this command -> netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal

5. You can enter the command at step 2 to validate that the Auto-tuning is set to "normal"

Launch the Xbox app and start the download again. You should see improved download speed. I hope that this helps !
