Xbox app for PC does not work

ive had a problem with trying to install games on pc from my microsoft account, ive tried everything ive seen in videos, ive tried to create a new account, nothing works. Its so annoying how i cant download my favorite game because of some bug or problem. This has been happening for over 8 months for me. It does not matter what game i try to download it does not work. I need some help, or for microsoft to fix this. the error code is "0x80073cf9".

First check if windows 10 is up to date. Make sure your time and date are correct on your windows settings.

There is an "Optional Updates" button in the smallest print. Kindly check and go to driver, and download the existing drivers needed. Then restart, plug in the Receiver. Go to the same optional updates, and updated the driver.

Make sure that this is turned on "Receive updates for other Microsoft products when you update Windows" under Advanced Options

Check for store updates: Start menu, select Microsoft Store > More > Downloads and updates > Get updates.

If Updating the system doesn't help, I'll suggest you run a scan to check for problems and repair them.

Press Windows + R, type cmd, and press Ctrl + Shift + Enter to run Command Prompt as administrator. Next type sfc /scannow in Command Prompt window, and press Enter to start to scan and repair corrupt system files in Windows 10.

the only other option I can think of now is a full reinstall of the OS from scratch, I normally do this once per year anyway to clean-up the OS and takes roughly an hour including installing everything else I use too.

if that fails to work then it must be something to do with your connection or account as that would be the only things left.

i promise you all this was checked and done. im running W10, everything is updated and im wired for my connection. im using the same antivirus ive always used, even when my app did work back in the day. McAfee.
