Xbox app fails to run or install games

Whenever I try to run any game (apart from Microsoft Solitaire Collection) using the Xbox app on Windows 11, the Microsoft Store app runs and displays the Gaming Services app (I assume it thinks that Gaming Services is not installed, when it is). I also cannot install new games from the Xbox app; it always stops at 'Preparing...'. eg

I have attempted to repair and reset all three apps through Settings.

I have used Terminal to remove Gaming Services and its associated registry keys before reinstalling it and the Xbox app.

Nothing has worked so far.

For info, this is the Windows version I have installed (which is up to date according to Windows Update)

Any help is appreciated.

I understand that you have already tried this, but do it again and add some steps to the process

First, uninstall the Xbox app and the console companion app, after this repeat the gaming services uninstall process licked this

Open RegEdit as an administrator and delete the following Services:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServices]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServicesNet]

Reboot PC

Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type powershell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and then select Run as administrator.
In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:

get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

****Clear and reset Store cache in Windows

Step 1: Close Windows Store app if it’s running.
Step 2: In the Start menu search box, type WSReset (Windows Store Reset) to see Wsreset in the search results.
Step 3: Right-click on WSReset and then click Run as administrator option.
Step 4: restart Pc and Modem/router

After the restart open a new administratrator PowerShell window and type the following command and press Enter:

start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.
Restart your device and try to install the game again.

Are you sure? Windows 11 on ARM can run x86 apps. The problem only happens with paid content being installed via the Xbox app, and normally paid games that are included with a subscription. The error occurs at the start of the download, as if it fails when it's trying to verify if it's been purchased or not.

Sorry to hear it. If the Beta app is trying to install these games but is failing then please try installing from the Store app

The game has nevwr been installed. It tries to start installing but fails and gives the error. I removed and reisntalled the xbox app but that did not help.
