    Xbox app dvr upload

I just came from a chat with Microsoft support, and sadly the problem was not able to be fixed.

When trying to upload a clip taken on my pc (via the Xbox game bar), the Xbox app displays the error message: "Sorry, this capture cannot be shared. We do not recognise the game".

The clip is of Fortnite, downloaded through the epic games website. The support guy told me to uninstall and then reinstall the xbox app, which i did. However, the problem still persists.

I have looked up numerous posts but i have not seen a solution.

I did try the following two things, however.

I changed the label of one of the clips (found in the properties section of the clip) from a line of letters and numbers, to just "fortnite".

The normal Xbox app does not recognise the clip, however, the Xbox beta app allows me to go onto the next step and allows me to choose the game. I choose fortnite, then the upload bar gets up to 98%, then the beta app crashes.

I have downloaded another clip I recorded on the Xbox (console) version of fortnite, copied the label and pasted it into the label of the same clip, replacing the previous "fortnite" label. This time, the normal Xbox app just starts uploading straight away,
without giving me the option to choose what game. However, it still only gets up to 98%, then the app crashes. The same thing happens with the beta app.

I have went through and deleted a few clips off of Xbox live, so space is not an issue (i think? the clip i experimented with is around 40mb, whereas the two newer clips are around 400mb, lel).

This person has also experienced the app crashing issue:

As have the people on this post: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/games_windows_10/xbox-app-crashes-during-uploading...

Note: My version of Windows is 1709 and all apps are up to date.

Note 2: Also, this is the very first time I've tried to upload any clips via the PC Xbox app. No editing has been made to the clips, apart from trim tool which both the Xbox app and beta app provides.

    :)

Hello, I'm unable to upload and share edited Game DVR clips in the Xbox App on Windows 10 to Xbox Live. App crashes each time 99 % of the clip is uploaded.

    Xbox app dvr upload

    Hi Chunky Sama,

For us to isolate if this issue has something to do with the Xbox app or with the account itself, we would like to know if you try using a different game and different device to see if the same issue persists. If this happens to all of your games and devices,
we suggest that you try creating a new account profile. If the issue does not happen on the new profile, there could be some broken system components on your old profile.

We will be waiting for your response.

    Hi Chunky Sama,

Normally, you should be able to share your video clips on the Xbox app. Regarding your concern, can you tell us if you owned the Fortnite Battle Royale game? The said error message when trying to share a video clip appears if the
system detected that the clip is taken from another game that is not downloaded from Microsoft Store. It is possible that it was also the root cause of your concern because the clips that you're trying to share came from a website. Also, may I know if you're
getting the same error message if you share video clips from the games you owned and downloaded from Microsoft Store?

Fortnite Battle Royale is a free to play game. I downloaded it from the Epic Games website and it is not from the MS store.

Sadly, I do not own any pc games in the MS Store, only from steam.

But Fortnite is also available on xbox, so why can the app not realise what game it is?

    I appreciate your reply.
    Fornite Battle Royale
is also available in the Microsoft Store for free. I suggest that you get this game from the Microsoft Store to check if it will help you upload your clips on the Xbox app. It's important
to get the license of this game from the Microsoft Store so that the Xbox app will recognize that you owned it and came from the Microsoft Store.

Let us know if that works for you.

Thank you for getting back to us. I reviewed the game description on this
    link
and it turns out that it's currently available for Xbox One console. This could be the reason why you can't be able to record clips from the game on Windows 10. Normally, recording clips are working
for games or apps that are available from Microsoft Store. Since the game is still in Early Access, it's possible that the game developers are trying to make the game available in Windows 10 soon. You share your comments and suggestion to make this available
in Windows 10 by using our Xbox UserVoice page. Rest assured that once it's available, you will be able to get the game from the Microsoft Store on your computer.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

edit xbox clips on xbox app on pc and upload it

    Hi Rastigan,

The only videos that are eligible for upload is if they have been recorded using the Game DVR, if a video is taken from Game DVR and edited externally, the Xbox App will recognize the file as external and not allow it to be uploaded.

I hope this information helps, thanks.
