Xbox app doesn't show any drives to install games on windows 11

This is a bug and from the description, it seems like you have followed required troubleshooting steps and problem persist. In this case, you have to file a bug report so the Windows team will investigate and resolve it. To solve this issue a new update should be released.

I also asked to update the Windows, because in the next update, this issue might be fixed.

I did contact and filed the feedback, to my surprise, today I opened my MS Store app and there were loads of updates, one was Gaming Services, right after I opened Xbox App, I checked if I could install games, and boom, there it is.

So, a W11 issue, I assume there must have been more users with the issue and that's about it. So I'm very grateful for all the users who have tried to help with this issue.

To your first question: Yes, I only started seeing this behaviour after updated to W11, I was on the latest W10 build at the time, can't remember which exactly (upgrade was done about a month ago).

#2 - Not using external drive, I'm running my installed games on a NVMe raid 0 setup, but it doesn't even show my system drive, also an NVMe drive. Haven't done any formatting, all games suffer same outcome.

Nothing I have tried solves the issue, all the links you have posted I have already tried with no success

Have also tried to route to ask support but nothing, it asks to go to the community which I already have and nothing, here I am.

Let me first express my gratitude for the help provided, unfortunately, none of the above procedures you suggested worked, I have tried first and third solutions prior to me creating this question. I have been unable to fix this issue, and I'm out of ideas already. Perhaps a next step would be for me to reinstall W11, but tbh, is the least thing I want to do right now, just because "Xbox app does what it wants", I have spent much time installing this build and just don't have the will power atm

Maybe my problem just has no fix¿? Who knows, trying to talk to MS is real hard, besides I wouldn't even know where to begin, besides this forum, there is nothing else I have seen come near a solution.

Reading your question I noticed that you tried some solutions that would normally solve the problem, considering this, I believe it may be a problem with windows 11 since the final version of the system has not yet been released, which can cause bugs and malfunctions like these. Anyway, I ask you to try other solutions that can help, if the alternatives below do not solve the problem, you will need to go back to windows 10, so that the installation of the games works correctly.

Solution 1:

Open RegEdit as an administrator and delete the following Services:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServices]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServicesNet]

PC reboot

*After that install gaming services again, to do this go to the Microsoft store, click get updates and install the latest version of Gaming Services.

Solution 2:

Go to your windows settings, go to the tab>applications and resources>Search for Gaming Services, click on it, go to advanced options, and tap repair.

Solution 3:

1. Open Settings ---> System

2. In the left column, choose the Storage tab and choose "Change where new content is saved"

3. Change "New apps will be saved to:" to any desired drive (in my case D drive)

4. Wait 2 minutes and restart your PC.

5. The Microsoft Store has now created the necessary folders for the Xbox app to use.

6. Repeat steps 1 to 3 to change your location back to default if desired.

7. Now you can download your games from the Xbox app to your desired drive/partition
