Xbox app doesn't download in the folder i want it too and wont open!

To answer your question, Xbox Insider has access to a feature that allows you to choose where you want to save the game. This news can be found at Advanced Installation and Management Features available for Insiders through the Xbox App for Windows - Xbox Wire.

If you want to join Xbox Insider, first make sure your Xbox apps (including Gaming Services) are up to date, then follow the instructions below:

1. Install and launch Xbox Insider Hub app on PC.
   
2. Navigate to Previews > Windows Gaming and select Join.
   
3. Wait for the registration to complete and check the Microsoft Store for updates to the Xbox and Gaming Services apps.
   
4. (You may try to restart PC.) Launch the Xbox app on PC.
   
5. Select your Gamerpic at the top, then select Settings.
   
6. Select General, then go to Game install options and select Use advanced installation and management features.

If you do not want to be a part of Xbox Insider, there will be games that will not allow you to downloaded on different folder or drive.

some game still only install to the windowsapp folder, this is encrypted, now you have took ownership and changed permissions has broken the encryption.

I use rainmeter too. If this is for Gameview 2 I use a quick work around that doesn't require locating the actual app .exe file.

Whatever app you want to launch, just create a desktop alias. This creates a .lnk shortcut. If you don't want the desktop shortcut on your desktop, move the .lnk file into another folder. I created a folder in my Rainmeter folder called App Links.

For launching the app, just point to the .lnk file:

B:\Rainmeter\Skins\Gameview 2\App Links\Xbox.lnk

For music that was purchased through the Xbox Music app, in Windows Explorer open the Music folder, there should be an Xbox Music folder there.



For music that was downloaded with your Xbox Music Pass, in the same Music folder, look for a folder labeled Subscription. You'll find the downloaded files there.

OK. Some good news. I did what you suggested by going to the Download History and downloading again. When I did it added the app to the My Apps folder and I was able to open and use the apps (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc.) from the My Apps folder but the app
icon in the apps dashboard still gives the error code.
