Xbox App does not work

The Xbox App does not install games. When I try to install a game to a different Partition than C: , nothing happens at all and when I try to install to C: it just says "preparing" forever and it just won´t start to download. The Xbox App is not completeley freezing some time after trying to install something but it does not load new content and it does not even close! I tried to fix the problem with every possible fix I found on the Internet (see following steps) and I even reinstalled Windows 11 twice. The problem occured after upgrading to Windows 11. I did not get the Windows 11 update through Windows 10 updates, even though it said that my pc is ready for Windows 11. I installed it directly from the microsoft homepage. I was in the Gaming for Windows Xbox insider preview but I canceled it in order to try fixing the problem. (screenshot and screen recording: https://aka.ms/AAgz343 )

I already tried following steps:

1) Make sure Date, Time, Time Zone and Region Is Correct On your PC

2) Make sure you are logged in with same account on Microsoft Store and Xbox App

3) Logout from Xbox app and Microsoft Store app and login again

4) Run wsreset command

5) Reset Xbox app and MS Store

6) Update Xbox App from Microsoft Store

7) Make sure Xbox Identity Provider and Gaming services is installed Xbox Identity Provider : https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/xbo... Uninstall remains of gaming service get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers Gaming services: start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

8) Start all these services IP Helper Xbox Live Auth Manager Xbox Live Game Save Xbox Live Networking Service Gaming services. Windows Update Microsoft install service

9) Run Windows Store Troubleshooter

10) Run Powershell Command: Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

11) Uninstall and reinstall Xbox App

12) Run inetcpl.cpl command Step

13) Run DISM Command Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth sfc /scannow

I am very frustrated and would be glad for additional tips.

Hi Flash, my issue is the 100% downloaded but error installing message 0x80070005. Installs work perfectly to system drive C, however error when installed on any other drive. Tried every solution online (re-installing everything except windows, xbox insider, win storage location default changes, time date location, adjusting permissions in system drive (noting permissions revert back on other 2 drives for /windowsapps folders), updates, deleting windowsapps and wpsystem folders, repairing and resetting, etc. etc.).

If i restart the computer and resume the download it will complete, which tells me it is a permission issue with the xbox pc app and drive. It's been going on for many months now and had enough lol

Same issue here and try the same what you allready wrote. Downgrade to W10 is not an option for me.

Sincerely you almost tried everything.
3. options came to my mind in that case:

1. Try uninstalling the most recent windows update, just in case it is the one that is causing conflicts

2. Downgrade to 10 and try again.

3. Perform a clean boot deleting everything (in case you tried reinstalling windows but keeping files)

Thanks for replying. Yes, I reinstalled the Xbox App, Gaming Services and even Windows 11. I did all those steps I added. I guess it might have something to do with the partitions because I created onother partition on my main Ssd before installing Windows 11. In W10 everything worked. I realized small games can be installed in the background but only on the partition C: and I don't see install progress and the Xbox app does still not react after some time (not loading new content, not starting games, not closing)

It´s very strange but it works for me:

Uninstall Gaming-Service and Xbox-App

Change region to United States on Windows

Restart you PC reinstall Xbox-App and Gaming Services

Downloads should start now...
