Xbox App does not recognize me as Admin

Having an issue, games in the Xbox app that say "Administrator Approval Required" cannot be installed, instead it gives me an error that says "Something Unexpected happened"

I've gotten on the phone with Xbox and Microsoft teams and in that call I was transferred about 3-4 times before the call dropped. I've gone to RegEdit, I've tried to reinstall the apps, Game Service, Xbox App, Companion app. I've tried repairing the apps. My PC is up to date. I've tried reinstalling windows. None of this has worked.

I can download games like Sea of Thieves, but games like Back 4 Blood or No Man's Sky. The Xbox app for some reason does not recognize me as the admin and it doesn't let me download the games I want to try out. Tried doing Shift+ctrl+Enter to run as admin, but these apps don't have that capability or something.

Anyone has a fix?

Could you share some images about it? And how exactly did you reinstall Windows?

I restarted my PC and there was a problem with something related to AMD in the WindowsApp folder, I'm afraid if this will affect performance or cause issues. I'm really not interested in wiping my PC since I have a lot in it. Everything was running fine until I attempted this fix, which failed. How can I reset the folders security settings to default?

I think the best way you can go is to do a clean install of Windows and format the hard drives completely. That's what I like to do seasonally to keep everything running. That's what I did before installing Windows 11 even though I had no problems with Windows 10.

I used the Command Prompt and did what you asked, sadly it didn't work. To answer your question, this is system only has a 1TB SSD, all of my games download in there. The only issue is the Xbox app.

I managed to download a game called "Mighty Goose" which does not require admin approval. It had no issues doing so, though this was working fine before. It's only with games that need admin approval, so the app is capable of downloading games.

Ok so I did a clean reinstall of windows, still have my files and in the process of getting them sorted, so this is good. I launched the Xbox app and I can now install No man's sky! That's great! It's a bit annoying to have to sort everything to where it once was, mostly things from apps such as Steam and Origin. But the issue was resolved! Thanks for everything! I didn't need to reformat my disk, I just did the reinstall that deleted apps but not the files
