Xbox App crashes when uploading captures

When I try to upload clips, the app crashes at 98% and doesn't upload the capture. This is very frustrating because I can't upload captures that I saved to OneDrive previously. Sometimes it seems trimming the videos into shorter segments gets them to upload,
but this doesn't even work consistently; they usually still fail.

I've googled around and a lot of others have had this issue with no apparent solution, but the posts I found were from months and months ago, so I'm hoping maybe there has been a fix since then?

I tried resetting the app and even downloaded the beta and tried that one instead and still have the same issue. I'm trying to upload clips from PUBG if that's relevant. (The captures were taken on my Xbox, then saved in my OneDrive and I am trying to bring
them from OneDrive to Xbox Live (since they've been deleted off my Xbox's local storage).

    :)

Windows 10 Xbox App Crashes When Uploading an (in-app) Trimmed Game Capture

Okay, update. I tried downloading the Xbox Beta app. When I upload my trimmed clip, it lets me select which game I want to upload it as. So I select PUBG and it continues uploading the clip. However, we are now back at my original problem...It crashes at
about 96% and doesn't ever upload!

Windows 10 Xbox App Crashes When Uploading an (in-app) Trimmed Game Capture

So I think I discovered the root cause of the app saying "Sorry, this capture can't be shared We don't recognize this game". I noticed that when I click "My Games" It says I have no games. This is strange because I own many many
games. It is also worth noting that I Game Share as well. The crazy thing is that PUBG is a game I personally paid for.

So as soon as I download the clip, the tags on the clip stating which game it is goes away and says "unknown". That is why it will not let me upload the clip.

    PhidzMac02,

Thank you for the reply, but I don't see anything in that link that addresses my issue. There is a lot of troubleshooting there for people having trouble recording clips on their PC, but I am not trying to do that, I don't even play from my PC. I am just
trying to upload the clip which was recorded on my Xbox and saved to OneDrive. I have figured out that clips over 40 seconds seem to crash it, whereas shorter ones don't. But this is a pain because if I have a 2 minute clip, I need to cut it into sections
to upload it and it looks bad trying to piece it back together.

Others have had this problem too, but I don't see a solution in their forum posts either:

    Hi Unidentified User,

Thank you for bringing this up. Normally, you should be able to upload clips using the Xbox app on your computer. Regarding your concern, can you tell us if you were able to upload clips before using your Xbox app? If so, there's a possibility that the app
got corrupted on your computer. To resolve this issue, I suggest that you run the Windows app troubleshooter to scan and repair the Xbox app. You may refer to this

    link
    to run the troubleshooter.

If the issue persists, I also suggest that you reset the Xbox settings on your computer by performing the following steps:

    1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard, and then click the Settings icon. Select System, and then select Apps & features.
    2. Find the Xbox app, and then click on Advanced options.
    3. Click Reset.
    4. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Do get back to us with the results. We'd be more than willing to provide you additional help.

    DarkusFreedom16,

Thank you for the tips, but unfortunately neither of those methods solved the issue. To reiterate, I am able to upload videos that are shorter than 40 seconds. It is videos that are longer than 40 seconds that crash the app. So a 30 second clip uploads fine,
but a 1 minute clip crashes at 98%. This is very strange that it would work with shorter clips but not a clip only slightly longer.

Any other ideas how to fix this?

Xbox App crashes when uploading captures

I'm also having this issue, and have tried all troubleshooting steps in this AND linked threads. Resetting the app in Settings hasn't helped.

Through trial and error, I've discovered that if the clip is 15 seconds or shorter, it will upload and the app doesn't crash. If the clip is 16 seconds or longer, the Xbox App crashes when the upload reaches 97%

This issue didn't start happening to me until after 7/11/2018. On that day, I had uploaded a 2:23 clip without issue. Since then I've been unable to upload anything longer than 15 seconds.
