Xbox App crashes when starting to stream

Hello everyone,

I've got a problem streaming from my xbox to my pc. Everytime I try to do this, the app will crash instantly.

I just found this topic and tried the different solutions, but nothing worked for me. Espacially the Morphological Filtering is disabled in my AMD driver seetings.

My system:

• Windows 10
• Intel Core i7 860 @ 2,80 GHz
• AMD Radeon HD 7850 @ AMD Crimson 16.5.3
• 8GB RAM

The problem occures also accros other apps that stream media.

Back in march or so it all worked, but I can't really reconstruct possible events that lead to this problem that might have occured since then.

I tried some possible solutions so far but nothing helped:

• reinstalled different driver versions including the last catalyst control center version instead of crimson,
  
• reinstalled several versions of the MS C++ Redistributable (2008,2010,2012,2013,2015)
  
• tried to repair some libs using sfc /scannow, which idneed found corrupt opencl.dll and fixed it but with no effect on that issue.
  
• reinstalled the crashing apps

At this point I have no idea what I might try next, but the issues gets annoying as I'd like to stream some games now which once really worked fine in high quality.

Can someone help please?

Xbox app crashes when playing videos

When clicking on a video in the activity stream, or in the store, the Xbox app will crash

If the video begins to play automatically in the activity stream, it will not crash. It's only when specifically clicking on the play icon.

This happens in both the built-in Xbox app and also the beta Xbox app in Windows 10

I reset my xbox. That did nothing, the app still crashes when you highlight the MIA/BUF game and the streams aren't available.

 

Hi realperfect. Can you tell us what versions of the app are you observing this issue? If you experiencing this issue on both version of the App standard from the store or the beta version help us out and report this issue via Xbox App beta using "report
a problem" I will take your report and send it to the developers to request an investigation.

Let us know if your able to report this issue. In the mean time I will call this out in our reports to the developers so they are aware of this issue. If they have further questions we will contact you.

thanks for the fast response! I can confirm that I experience this issue on both versions of the app. The build number of the standard app I'm using is 15.17.3003.00000, for the beta app it's 15.18.10.12.00000.

In addition to my initial post the streaming test itself works and says everthing is ok, all streaming qualities are possible.

I've reported this issue right now using the description above. I appriciate your help and hope the devs will find any hint, what could cause this problem.

 

since my problems persist, I tried an older graphics card and it all worked fine again! I tried my prior used Radeon HD 5850 using the same exact same overall configuration and software / drivers!

switching back to the Radeon 78870 brings back the issues.

It seems to be an issue with this card, but I cant't figure out what exactly since I don't know if and where apps write log files in Windows 10. Using GPU-Z I discovered that starting a video boosts the memory clocks from 150 Mhz to 1200Mhz syncronious to
the app crashing. Since I don't have any issue using regular Win32 applications like VLC, Chrome or games it seems to be an issue with the UWP / Modern UI apps?

 

Same here... As soon, als I uninstall the driver, everything is okay... No on seems to feel the right person für this issue...

Mit card is a Sapphire nitro R9 390. Already tried the xbox Beta App, an oder version of Crimson and the Beta version...
