XBox app cannot wake up XBox

    This seems to be a randomly returning problem. The XBox is in sleep mode (white light on power supply) and the XBox app can find it. I guess, if it couldn't find the XBox on the network, it would not offer to switch on / wake up. But trying so won't work.
    No reaction on the XBox, the app says "could not switch on". But I can ping the box's IP.

    This has worked before.

    hi, I have some issues with x1 last 2-3 day also. I can start streaming when console is on. When its off cannot wake it up. as an temporary solution you can reset your network card setting ( e.g. I changed settings from dynamic IP to statics ) and this help
    to boot xbox console from xbox app. I have wired connection.

    Seems issues appears when console is power off for long time.

    I have the same issue. I am able to ping the xbox's ip through cmd but the xbox app won't wake it.

    Hi Narrow, I have observed this issue being reported before but its been very random reports. What would be a great help is if you can report this issue using the Xbox App (Beta) on the PC this is occurring on. Try reproducing and if the issue happens immediately
    report it using the " Report a problem" via beta version. You can DL the app here:
    www.microsoft.com/.../9NBLGGH1J27H. Then click on the happy icon face on the left NAV bar to access the feature.

  7. @Bestlano: I saw you mentioning this "Report a problem" several times - but how to report and where? We would expect some sort of form.

    If I search here on the forums - nothing. If I search at user voice - nothing. If I go to support and chose "XBox app" and "PC" - still no problem report form.

    Apart from that thing, I saw your link to Xbox app beta and gave it a try. This is what happened:

    1. It could not find my XBox automatically (why not?), so I had to enter the IP - nothing found

    2. Then I saw the XBox was in deep sleep -> switched on, waited for boot finish.

    3. Click on "Find" again - nothing.

    4. Closed beta app and started again -> re-enter IP (grrr!) -> Find -> OK

    5. Stream -> still reporting "No controller" (from my other post here), but streaming starts

    6. Set XBox to fast boot, then switch off -> XBox app tells something about network problems (well, the XBox could have told the app like "hey, I'm going to switch off", so that disconnection would be expected)

    7. XBox shuts down, the app disconnects and shows "Connect" button -> click -> error "Could not connect". Well, no connection, no wake up.

    8. XBox app closed and started again -> now it can connect (still the problem from one of my other posts, general connection problem) -> "Switch on" -> Works



    Good, one issue solved.

    9. Shut down XBox again to standby -> XBox app disconnects -> why? How to wake to it up later?

    Hi Understaker, Sorry to hear you experienced all that just from installing and launching Xbox App (Beta). Thankfully, the issues you encountered have already been reported.

    For the issue your reporting in 9. I have seen this issue reported before but at random occurrences so we will need a bit more info to present this to the developers.. What will help greatly is if this issue occurs again can you please report it by using
    "Report a problem" in the beta app? This will generate a report with helpful data and send it to the developers to investigate. I will call this out in our reports to the developers to build awareness to this issue. If the developers have further questions

    I am also having this same issue.

    Xbox's are set to instant on.

    I have even reserved their ip addresses.

    Set my nighthawk router to open nat

    app cannot find the Xboxes.

    I was able to add them by powering both on and entering the ip I reserved for each and connect and stream successfully.

    I CANNOT wake them up via the app

    Router also shows them as attached devices but they will not respond to ping requests.

    all are on the same router on a wired network in my house.

    please help. seems to be a problem on the xbox side, it doesn't want to respond when sleeping, I have seen this before as sometimes apps will not update until it is "woken" up when I have it set to keep them up to date, its a hit or miss and each one acts
    different about this.
