Xbox app cannot turn on console

Discus and support Xbox app cannot turn on console in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I have my console set to instant-on and the windows 10 xbox app and smartglass cannot turn on my xbox.     Xbox app cannot turn on console


    I have my console set to instant-on and the windows 10 xbox app and smartglass cannot turn on my xbox. After it is on everything works as it should. Now the thing is it used to work but then I moved and got a new comcast router with dual band vs a single
    that I used to have. Would that make a difference? I have my xbox hooked up via ethernet.

    help xbox app will try to turn on console but says "cannot connect to console make sure you console is on instant on" I have made sure it is on instant on but still dosent work please help

    Just had the same problem.Go into your SYSTEM/CONSOLE/VIDEO setting-turn closed captioning OFF!

    dasboard update turned it on! DO NOT deleate the APP! Update also BROKE the APPS search-nothing shows up when you search ANY app except NETFLIX! I can"t dowwnlad the NHL app,so-CANNOT WATCH HOCKEY NOW on the Xbox. \

    Remote play on Xbox App

    I have similar issue.

    What doesn't work:

    • Remote Control from Standy On : Cannot touch Xbox button or Turn On Console to truly power on the console.
    • Remote Play from Standby On: Cannot connect to the console, even though the router can find the console connected to network, can ping to the console through router console.
    • Game management: cannot install or uninstall games
    What does work:

    • Change console name: using Xbox app to change console name, the updated name reflects on Xbox app Beta, Xbox Game Streaming (Test app) for PC. This means the apps still be able to connect to the console, sending signal to the console.
    • Remote play when Powered on: remote play/console streaming feature can be used only and if only the console is turn on, with the Xbox button on console lighted on. Work on both External and internal networks => not related to NAT(Open type) or Remote settings because all testings give green status. ==> However, having the console turn on directly in-home or having someone at home to turn on the console for me is not the point of remote play. The console is supposed to be turn on in background for remote play from External network!
    This issue should be fixed before anything else!

    Yes usually that works, always when you cannot install a game through the console with some error or bug in the store app you can still do the install order (if your console is turn on) through the store website or the xbox app in mobile or windows 10.

    Xbox one problem

    Same problem here! Cannot figure out how to fix it. Cannot even get out of apps back to Home, where I would press the "X" button to get back to the Xbox menu... have to turn off the entire console and restart to get back to Home. But still, cannot at
    all get to Settings!!! Happened all of a sudden, no update, etc.

    If the app is not available on the Xbox 360 app store, then you cannot download it for that console.
