    Xbox App cannot find Xbox One on same network


    I just posted this in support, but maybe the discussion forum is better.

    I'm wondering if this is a widespread issue. Two days ago everything was working fine. I then had the Windows 10 Creators update installed. Since then the xbox app can not find my xbox one on the same network and cannot connect. I have done a chat with Microsoft
    with no fix.

    Things that I tried:

    I restarted both my Windows 10 Laptop and Xbox One

    I uninstalled and reinstalled Xbox app through Powershell.

    I reset my Xbox One to Factory settings.

    Changed the name of Xbox One

    All Streaming settings correct

    I had another update today

    2017-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4040724)

    I tried to use the Xbox App again after and while it could not find the Xbox One on it's own, it managed to connect when I put the IP Address. This worked for about 20 minutes and I disconnected thinking it was fixed.

    Now it's broken as before.

    Any advice? Anyone else with same issues?

    Xbox App cannot find Xbox One on same network

    Same issue, cannot connect or "find" my xbox even though I am staring right at the IP address. Very frustrating.

    Same here. I cannot connect to the console. Was working yesterday. This is not the first time this has happened. The last time the problem was on Microsoft's end.

    Same issue, cannot connect or "find" my xbox even though I am staring right at the IP address. Very frustrating.

    Same here. I cannot connect to the console. Was working yesterday. This is not the first time this has happened. The last time the problem was on Microsoft's end.

    SmartGlass don't work !

    So, I have the SmartGlass app for Xbox One (for Win8 and WP8) and the app can't find my Xbox in my network. Yes, the devices are both in the same network.

    Even entering the IP of my Xbox doesn't solve the problem.

    Does anyone have any ideas or is experiencing the same problem?

    If I well remember when I did the same, if your laptop and xbox are in a local network (connected to the same router), the app should not ask for the IP but recognize the xbox already in the network (as
    long as it is ON and connected to the network).

    You should check if that is the case even if without a video output attached to the console it may be a problem.

    When the app finds no xbox in the local network it will then ask for the IP, but if the cause is the xbox itself, providing one will not change the result.
