Xbox Game App suddenly lost most of my storage drives

Hi, this didn't offer a solution. The apps are simply disappearing, but the storage they are on is perfectly functional otherwise. It is still happening and I cannot access the games. It's gotten worse now, with the game-pass not able to see *any* drives at all.

In my settings on the Xbox App, it believes all its dependencies are not installed and if I ask it to install them, they reinstall but it still can't find them. The app appears to be given no access to any part of my PC without any reason or explanation.

Cannot install games on D drive says it is not formated to NTFS.

Unfortunately none of the proposed workarounds have helped after multiple repairs and restarts and fiddling with the settings. Infuriating.
Did you try this? Set whatever drive you want as default in Xbox App, disable in xbox app settings option to allow program pick drive before each installation. And then download game you want in Microsoft Store, not Xbox app. Must click this 3 dots next
to install button, and then choose "install on my device" or something like that and pick your PC. It worked for me and few other people.

It didn't, but what DID work for me was just installing the game on my C: drive then finding it in Windows storage settings and moving it over to the E: drive. No issues with it showing up as playable or running it in the Xbox App. This is probably the most
foolproof method for this issue. It bypasses the bug in the app completely, as long as you have space for the initial install on another drive.

    Xbox One External Storage Question

Once you format a drive from the Xbox One, it becomes dedicated to only Xbox One games and apps. You cannot use it on your computer for other items nor can you install media (music or movies) on it. You can use another hard drive just for media, but only
use the standard PC format. You can use smaller drives than the required 256GB for a game installation drive and only need a USB 2 connection to use it as a media drive, which can also still be used on your PC (or Mac for that matter).

    GAME PASS BETA

Another person posted this in another thread.

I followed the directions and it has worked for me.

Once you follow the directions once you click on install it bring up a box asking where you want to install the game.

If you are like myself and use a modist sized drive for windows and use a larger drive for gaming you generally want to install your games on your storage drive not your boot drive, but as it stands by
default when you goto use the xbox beta app it wont allow you to change from its default installed drive.

A easy to fix this is to goto system- then storage- and under the storage tab find " change where new content is saved" then select "new apps will save to" and select your preferred storage drive.

Then uninstall your xbox (beta) app, and reinstall it, now when you goto install a new game on the pc game pass it will give you the option to select what drive you want to install it on.

This issue happens because by default windows needs to recognize that your pc has the folder called windows app on that drive and that it has been setup by a windows app installer atleast once, for the
xbox (beta) app to recognize the new (useable) install location for your games and apps

    Hope this helps everyone :)
