Xbox app cannot detect xbox one

Hello everyone.

I just upgraded my ailienware 14 laptop to Windows 10 from Windows 7 (trying to give as much info as possible), because I was told that I could stream my xbox from it. I've seen people do it.

So I open the xbox app and sign in. No problem. I can see my friends list, join parties, do everything like that (I was really impressed by the party thing)

But when I try to connect my xbox to the app, it says it can't find it, and that I should enter the IP address,

So I go on my xbox, go to Network > Advanced settings, and my ip is 192.168.X.X <-- I don't think I should be giving my xbox ip to other people, so yeah

So I enter that into the app, but it says it cannot find a XBOX one console with that IP.

I'm stuck, so I go to Troubleshoot Xbox App Game Streaming | Xbox App on Windows 10 <-
this place, and try everything that they tell me to do.

I have:

-Disconnected my router, replugged it in

-Restarted both console and laptop

-checked my router settings, my xbox is on 2.4GHz, and my PC is on 5.0GHz. I'm not sure if this is the problem, but I don't know how to change which one to go to. I have a BTHub5, if anyone knows what to do.

UPDATE:

Managed to get both the XBOX and the laptop onto 5.0GHz. I'm not sure if this makes a difference, but they're on the same thing now.

But it still doesn't work, no different from before.

 

Hi Brushy, If you have not referenced the following Troubleshooting guide below? Can you please try it out, let us know if it helps or not. Although it references Smartglass, the steps should help with Xbox App.

Also, I have confirmed that the xbox and the laptop was on the same network, because I was able to ping the Xbox ip.

No update but the developers are investigating. Have you tried using the latest version of Xbox App (Beta)? You can DL the app located here:
www.microsoft.com/.../9NBLGGH1J27H. If the issue continues, click the smiley face and use 'Report a problem'; this will gather helpful data for the developers to help investigate.
Let us know how things progress. In the mean time I will report to the developers this issue is still occurring.
