    Xbox app cancels downloads after a few mins (error 0x00000001)


    I updated to the latest version of windows yesterday and bought 3 months of xbox game pass however any game I try to install says preparing 0% for about 10mins then just cancels the download. If I click off the page to look at another game it cancels instantly.

    I also have 2 problems with the MS store.

    1) After pressing install on a game the store does nothing and doesnt install the game.

    2) After pressing install the store freezes and i have to close it to use it again.

    Either one of these issues happens if I try to use the store to download the same games.

    The games ive tried to install are Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, Yakuza Kiwami 2 and Grounded. I get the same problem when trying to download any of these games.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

    Edit: Just waited to try and install Yakuza 0 again and got error 0x00000001 but when I click "find help for this" nothing comes up.

    I'm having the same issue as the original poster. The microsoft store won't allow me to install, the Xbox app allows me to begin the install but before I get to 1 percent it gives me error code 0x00000001 and my only option is to cancel the download.

    I just finished trying that, but unfortunately it did not work for me. After doing the steps that Kyle linked to I tried to download Bugsnax again. It caused the Xbox app to display error 0x00000001, then error 0x87e00196 after trying to start the download again. I tried the typical solution for these of reinstalling Gaming Services, but it just brought me back to my original issue.

    Hey! Reporting back I fixed my problem!

    The solution in the Reddit post didn't work but what I did do was install the Xbox App. In doing so I was able to try and install the game in the App. This gave me another Error code (0x00000001). After looking it up I followed this troubleshooting guide:

    For me Solution 3 worked. After Resetting my internet connection I was able to download and install the game on my PC!
