Xbox App (beta): it would be nice to have a "remote play" option on the game page

Actually got worse with the last update. Now there is no option to "play" cloud games. Only lets me remote install. The app is now totally useless.

I called customer support and the best they could do was that the app was in beta and that they would make a ticket. I thought the app was out of beta, and the main reason why I use Gamepass.

That's odd. I'm not sure if the one x has the same feature since I'm on a series x. I would check on your console if you have the remote features turned on if that is an option for your console. Use this help page to see if you have the option to enable it : Xbox Remote Features. I would then re-try the process I mentioned earlier. Hopefully it works, if not I would just call Microsoft, they usually answer the phone pretty quickly and are very helpful

Are these games you're installing through the XBox (Beta) app or remote installing using the App?

I would say check under Ready to Install in My Games & Apps on Xbox.

Also, see what options you get when you search in the Xbox Store on your Xbox One. Make sure it is the normal edition and not the Game of the Year edition. There should be an option to install.

Also you could try downloading from the Microsoft Store web page, there will be an option to install on my devices. Make sure you are set up for remote
downloads as mentioned on this Install games remotely on your Xbox One.

Just a heads up, you cannot use your PC for your Xbox console because both platforms are different. However, you have the option to play your Xbox console remotely to your PC.
