Xbox App ARM Parallels

"If you’re running windows under parallels we don't have the tools or information to help you"

This is CLASSIC pass-the-buck nonsense. Parallels is going to look at you like you are crazy and tell you to go to MICROSOFT for MICROSOFT apps that don't work.

For anyone on Google who wants the real answer, here is how to actually get this working:

-Clean install Windows on Parallels

-Do NOT sign in to your Microsoft account, on any prompt.

-Skip every setup question, get to the desktop as soon as possible, sign in to nothing.

-Make sure your user account in settings says "local account"

-DO NOT USE THE XBOX APP IN THE MICROSOFT STORE.

-DO NOT OPEN THE MICROSOFT STORE.

-Go directly to this page and download the Xbox for PC App: Xbox App for Windows PC | Xbox

-Run it, allow changes.

-NOW you sign in, allow it to "sign in everywhere on your device".

Here's why this works, and why this is NOT a Parallels issue: simply put the version of the Xbox app in the store is different than the standalone installer. It doesn't work, the installer does, as it installs the THREE "apps" needed for this to run: the Xbox app itself, Gaming Services, and most importantly the Xbox Identity Provider app. Installing the Xbox app from the store will not install the other two services required for this experience to work.

Anyone who has spent any time with Windows should understand that desktop apps and store apps are very different (EG OneNote). There's your tools and information boys, enjoy.

I had exactly the same issue. I reinstalled Windows 11 via Parallel but nothing worked.

We are glad that the suggestion thread of DmitryBrodan, helped you with your concern. In any case, you are still seeing issues like a limitation on the app best for you to consult it first to the Parallels on Mac Support as they can check the reason why this could happen and not on normal set up.

I had the same issue as AbbeTheOne, but now the app loaded fine and I was able to sign in to my MS account. However, I see only the "Community" section, is this by design?





With the "old" Xbox app I was able to install and play some of the games (while most of them were not downloadable with an error, https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/unable-to-install-xbox-app-games-on-parallels/395830dc-65c0-4c6b-a798-c770bb1102ac).
