Xbox App and the 0x80070520 error

Hi,

I'm at my wits end. I've done near everything sans wiping my SSD with zeroes and reinstalling Windows.

I cannot play **any** games through my Xbox App. I get the 0x80070520 sign in error.

I am on Windows 11:

Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 22H2
Installed on ‎10/‎18/‎2023
OS build 22621.2715
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22677.1000.0

I have done the following:

Uninstalled the Microsoft Store App, XBox App, Xbox Identity Provider, and (via Powershell with admin privileges)

Ensured I was signed out of anything related to Microsoft (I'm on a local-only account)

Removed any semblance of Xbox registry keys

Uninstalled all of my games

Checked tons of forums for potential resolution and possible fixes

Windows Firewall is disabled entirely

No AV is installed on this device

My actual firewall and DNS resolver has been bypassed to ensure nothing is blocking it from check in

I have done packet captures on my NIC within the OS, VLAN interface my device is on, and my WAN connection

My hosts file is default with one exception which points a FQDN to a local IP.

Nothing seems to work to get rid of this error. It has been a month since I've been able to play any games. My Xbox Ultimate subscription is valid. I turned off auto pay and it will not renew after the 16th.

I tried calling support and did a screenshare with them for an hour plus. Nothing worked. They said they would put in a ticket and email me. I knew they wouldn't because I never received an email.

If I didn't have Steam which has worked FLAWLESSLY for YEARS on the SAME DEVICE, I'd be even more upset.

If all Steam games worked with Linux, I'd never use Windows again.

I am asking in this forum for any assistance to help resolve this issue. I have tried every link posted related to this error in the community. Nothing seems to work.

Hi Andrew, my next suggestion was going to create a new account as this would rule out PC issues and make it account related.

Been following along. Same problem. Works on my other win 11 system, does not on my win 10 system. My problem is in Minecraft Launcher, Microsoft Login. TRies and then I get a red box upper right side of screen with 0x80070520.

Worked for a week after I bought a Realm. Then 3 days ago, this all happened.

I went from W11 to W10 and the issue still persists. I feel like something is wrong with my account and not related to my PC.

I don't have another PC to test this with, unfortunately. Currently on the phone with CS to see if they can do anything more. I do not have high hopes.

Have you chased it up with support? If you've already tried everything posted in this community I'm afraid there isn't anything else we can advise other than working with the support team to find a solution.

No. I won't bother. It's not worth it. I've tried just about everything they will put me through.

Unfortunately I am going to have to remove and reinstall Windows entirely.
