    I posted this on Microsoft forum first and was told to come here. I did a search and didn't find a solution, so I'm starting a new thread.

    Since the latest Windows 10 update (think it's the anniversary one, maybe they only just rolled it out in Australia) my xbox app isn't working. Neither is the store app. The store up won't load at all and the Xbox app goes to a sign in screen that says 'We're
    unable to sign you in, try again later' and a code 0x406 (although 409 happened once). This is even before I try to sign in. I can't sign in, the sign in button just does a refresh animation.

    I've tried running a command prompt that checks for errors and apparently my laptop is sweet as. (It's not).

    I've tried signing in with a Local user and then resigning in with Microsoft account.

    Office suite is working fine, Live emails are good. So it seems that my Microsoft account is signing into laptop, Office etc. As far as I can tell it's only the Xbox app and Store (that I've come across) that doesn't work.

    Let's manually update the controllers on your Windows 10 PC through the Xbox Accessories app. To proceed, kindly download the "Xbox Accessories" app from the
    Windows Store. This is a separate app from the Xbox app. The app will enable you to update your controller. Refer to How

    for the steps.

    so I'm trying to update xbox app for windows 10 I went under windows store and theres no option to update the app. I restarted my laptop and still same thing any1 help?

    I've actually been having any number of issues with the Windows Store, though my Xbox App works. Maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling the Xbox App (if you need me to find the instructions I can look for those if that'll help you).

    I hope you get things sorted if you haven't already.

  5. I'm being told when I sign in to my Xbox account that I am not connected to the Internet, even though I am connected reliably. There is no error code. What gives?

    First question: Are we using the Xbox (beta) app or the regular release. If you have access to the store, please search for the beta app. When you have it, there is a smiley face icon on the left side that will allow you to file a report on this issue (assuming
    it lets you login).

    I'm assuming everyone can login to the web via web browsers because you're posting here, so the next question is when did this start happening? Lotusfrog, can you check for an update again to see if there's another one available?

    It's been since the latest major update that changed all my menu layout (within the last week). I think this is that anniversary one but maybe it's only just rolled out to Australians because a friend of mine also only just got it. (not sure if he's having
    issues). I checked for updates and I'm all good there.

    Anyway, I can now open up the general store app (had to do a reset on that because that wasn't working either). I have the normal app, not the beta (checked in the store).

    Can't seem to find how to reset the xbox app but I have tried both the command prompt and powershell stuff to uninstall it so that I can get another fresh download. I cannot uninstall it! It's like there's a large bucket of them that the OS keeps tossing
    back up into my system. The useless icon keeps reappearing in my latest used apps (driving me nuts!!!). I can't uninstall it via the Settings either like I can with other stuff.

    Btw, I uninstalled and reinstalled the One Smartglass app and that actually lets me sign in. I can also sign in to Office, emails, laptop etc. So the system is definitely aware of my Microsoft account, which leads me to think that it's an actual app problem
    rather than a sign in problem (??)

    I can also sign into Xbox.com (obviously Xbox app and Store not working since Windows 10 update :)) and my actual Xbox. It seems that my account is fine.

    So, do I go back to a previous build (seems like a poor solution, as I'll keep getting prompted to restart with applying updates and that'll affect my mood), or is there a better solution? How do I permanently get rid of the app? Maybe if it's not there
    at all I won't keep wanting to use it (I did use it a lot until this week).

    Oh, and I don't really want to download the beta version as I am already a previewer for the console and it can have a lot of issues, which I'm okay about on the Xbox, but I can't have stuff affecting my laptop as I use it for Uni.

    I downloaded the beta, exactly the same problem. Couldn't find a smiley face anywhere to report the problem (probably because I couldn't log in). The Get Help button doesn't work either. Thank goodness I was able to uninstall it Xbox app and Store not working since Windows 10 update :)

    Same problem here, Xbox app loads but crashes while logging in with no error message. And exactly same behaviour in beta app. Today I've seen a new update in Store but still not working. I've uninstalled Xbox app with PowerShell and reinstalled again via
    Store, but Xbox app keeps crashing. Notice this is happening in a tablet-PC with Intel Atom x5-Z8500, but the app works OK for me with my other computers I have Windows 10 installed.

    Seeing the same thing since upgrading to 14942 of Windows 10. It says "access denied". Tried both regular and beta, uninstall reinstall.
