    I got Microsoft Flight Simulator, installed it on my F: drive. But every day I start my PC I am forced to reinstall the game as the Xbox App says "Error 0%" with the following error code: 0x800706b5.

    The game runs fine if I uninstall and reinstall it, until I shutdown my PC.

    It seems as if the Xbox app is unable to verify that the game is installed. I tried installing the game onto a different drive (EXbox App 0x800706b5 can't open app after PC boot - Required to reinstall daily :) but I'm still having the same issue. That said, I left the "MFS Packages" on the F: drive to avoid reinstalling those overnight.

    When I try to look for the .exe myself I am greeted with a screen telling me that the media is offline, which presumably would indicate an issue with my F: drive. The problem is is that I've been using the F: drive just fine for plenty of other things, it shows up in the file explorer, and I can read and write files to it, as well as run applications from it.

    I've now had to reinstall the game's launcher about 4 times already and I'm incredibly fed up with having to do this. It seems to me that this is a bug in the Xbox App as other apps (E.g. Steam) work perfectly fine from the drive in question.

    I'd like to add that for some reason the game is shown as 3 entries in Xbox app library:
    - Digital Ownership

    - Microsoft Flight Simulator: Standard Game of the Year Edition

    - Microsoft Flight Simulator: Standard Edition

    The latter 2 do have the play button show up, but they link to the Digital Ownership copy. At one point I did have game pass, and have played this game before using that. Is something going on with that perhaps?

    Can't Verify/Repair Game Files on Xbox PC App

    Reset the Xbox PC App to its default settings and clear any issues that you were facing with the app. Please follow the steps to reset the Xbox PC App:

    1. Close the Xbox PC App: Make sure the Xbox app is not running in the background. You can check this by looking for the app icon in the system tray (bottom right corner of the screen) and right-clicking to close it if it's running.

    2. Uninstall the Xbox PC App:
    • Press the Windows key + I on your keyboard to open the Settings app.
    • Go to "Apps" or "Apps & features," depending on your Windows version.
    • Look for the Xbox app in the list of installed apps.
    • Click on the Xbox app and select "Uninstall."

    3. Clear App Data (Optional):
    • After uninstalling the app, you can also manually delete any remaining app data. Open File Explorer, and in the address bar, type: %localappdata%\Packages
    • Look for a folder named something like "Microsoft.XboxApp" or "Microsoft.XboxGameOverlay."
    • Delete the folder if it's still there.

    4. Reinstall the Xbox PC App:
    • To reinstall the Xbox app, open the Microsoft Store app.
    • Search for "Xbox" in the search bar.
    • Find the Xbox app in the search results and click on it.
    • Click the "Install" or "Get" button to reinstall the app.

    5. Launch the app and sign in:
    • Open the Xbox app after the installation is complete.
    • Sign in with your Microsoft account or Xbox Live account.

    You should try reinstalling the Xbox App with Clean Boot. Basically, you just need to perform a clean boot on your laptops to start Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This can help eliminate software conflicts. And after performing a clean boot, try reinstalling the Xbox app from the Microsoft Store.

    Thanks for the extra info, let's try this:

    A.
    Reinstall Gaming Services using powershell command

    Press Windows key + X and then select Windows PowerShell (Admin).

    Type or copy / past the following command and press Enter:

    Get-AppxPackage *gamingservices* -allusers | remove-appxpackage -allusers

    Restart the PC and Open the Xbox application.

    A blue notification with the following message is going to appear at the bottom:
    "This app needs an extra component. Gaming Services is needed for playing some games. Administrator approval required. Install"

    Select Install to reinstall Gaming Services, once installed check again

    B. Do a clean boot in your PC and check if the issue persist or not

    After that go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.
    After that, click repair and then reset

    Then do the same for the Xbox app and dead by daylight

    Go to windows settings > apps > search for Xbox app > click on it and select advanced options.

    After that, click repair and then reset.
    Restart the PC and try again
