Xbox and WiFi connection

hi ppl.

I just bought myself the xbox one s with 2 games, but I can't use the console, it asked for an wifi connection just to update the console, so I used ny phone as a wifi hotspot and in 30 minutes my bill was past 3 gig data, I tried to play one of the games
that came with and it required an additional 11.22gig of data just to install the game. I cancelled the installation. How can I play my games without having to get a wifi connection? The salesperson never told me that I would need a wifi connection to play
the games. I feel like I just wasted all my money on something that I cant use. Isnt there a way around it so that I don't have to get a wifi contract just to play games? Any advice is good advice...

Just downloaded the gold edition of the game but cannot connect my iphone as the controller both the phone and the Xbox are on the same wifi

Why when i test my xbox live connection does it say its working, but it doesn't?

How are you connecting to the internet? Are you using a wired connection, or a wireless (WiFi)? I had a console where a WiFi connection would give me occasional problems, so you would want to check that out.

 

You can find information here on how to use your console offline - Using Xbox One Offline but if the initial update
did not finish, you may not be able to play yet. Also some games require the internet so depending on the games you bought would depend on whether or not they can be played offline.

 

Welcome to the problem I've tried to expose for a long time. I wish I had valid advice to help you other than...

Start a petition on xbox user feedback site to build an offline console. I would support the idea as I very much desire a console that doesn't require an internet connection.

The only downside us non Internet players would encounter is our game releases would come much later as we would have to wait untill the game has been fully developed so we can buy the full game on disc without the need for updates or dlc.

I have heard that there are mobile wifi services, by which a person that has wifi inside their car would charge you a set fixed price, to park outside your house, for a set time while you connect online. I have only heard this from a source that likes his
drink, and claims everyone who is famous they have met. So I'm not sure if it's a true story but thought it may be worth while looking into. As I know people can have wifi inside a car but never seen anyone offer a service from it.
