  2. Stolen console. Xbox360

    Hello,

Recently my house was broken into and my valuables were stolen. Filed a police report, they cannot proceed without a list of valuables and all possible serial numbers or detailed information.

My Xbox One was on my possession at the time--since I visit a buddy and coop--but my Xbox360 was stolen. I cannot find it listed under my devices, only my laptop and my XboxOne show up. Last time I remember signing in with internet access was in 2016 and
I can see the Xbox360 download history, but not the console information.

Any help would be appreciated, and I would like to avoid waiting forever on hold with customer support.

    i need help

ok so some kid stole my laptop and my xbox.

he has been logging on to my xbox gamertag and playing.

i called xbox support and asked if they could give me the ip addy and they really can't help me, but said the cops should be able to find it easy. apparently the cops in my small town are too ignorant to figure out how to do it.

so anyone know how i can tell them how to do it or be able to do it myself when they are loged on.

seeing someone play my stolen games on my stolen xbox is driving me crazy lol

hope this kind of question is allowed i'm desperate

You can check the recent activity of your Microsoft Account here: Sign in to your Microsoft account (via account.microsoft.com "Security & Privacy" page)

The laptop you can also "Find my device" under the "Devices" -> "My Devices" page, but the Xbox does not utilize location services like a regular Windows 10 install does, so you wouldn't be able to ping its location in the same manner.

I would recommend you reach out to Account Security as soon as possible to ensure you've done everything you can to secure your account ( support.microsoft.com )

"ping" as in an ICMP echo request? If so, there's no possible way you will find your stolen console, or your computer for that matter, with something simple as an ordinary echo request. How would you even know what to ping in the first place. That being
    pingable as well.

  6. The Xbox does not have an "anti-theft" measure to track the location of the console and such. The best (and only) thing you can do in this case is to
immediately change your password to your Microsoft account. That way, the thief won't have access to your account and games as soon as they turn it on and connect it to the internet.

Tracking the location of your laptop is a completely different thing from the Xbox, and it may depend if you ever registered it with a security service (some kind of built-in tracking software by the manufacturer or some third-party). While this part is
not covered by the forums support-wise, again, the best and only thing you can do is to
change the passwords to your online accounts, such as Microsoft, email, online banking, Facebook, and whatever else you log on to.

It's a bummer to hear about your stuff being stolen, but it's time right now to tie up the loose ends so thieves won't have access to your other stuff.

hooking up windows 10 laptop to xbox one x

Plug the HDMI cable into both your Xbox and your laptop. If your laptop doesn’t have an input port, you can buy a USB HDMI adapter. Then turn your Xbox on. Your laptop should automatically sense the new input.
If it doesn’t, access your laptop’s graphics settings in order to switch the display to your Xbox. After that, check the Xbox display settings and configure the resolution for your laptop.
I already plugged the hdmi cord into the laptop and xbox, I tried switching the display to ur xbox but I cant find it
